  • Leandro Cano is a Spanish designer was born in Jaen, a little town in Andalucía. When he was 16, he moved to Granada to study Graphic Design and Photography. He moved to Seville to study Fashion Design, while studying, he was selected to participate in several contests, as Pasarela Abierta in Mucia or MOVE in Seville. After finishing his degree in Seville, the Leandro Cano brand was established in 2012. He showed his first collection in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. The name of this collection was “Buffet”, and was widely accepted by both the press and general public. Leandro won the contest and so his “Buffet” collection was shown at the final of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Finally, after more than 6 months of work and investigation, "Anima", as the collection was named, was shown at the 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. In 2013 “Leandro Cano Weekend Bag”, was launched. Additionally he became that year finalist of the 5th edition of Mango Fashion Awards. Currently, Cano works as a teacher in several fashion schools. He has won the first edition of the Samsung Innovation Project, a contest that consists on supporting the production of a collection mixing fashion and technology. It was launched at Samsung EGO at the last Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid edition. The second project is the most exciting challenge that he has ever faced: the launching of his first ready-to-wear collection. Leandro has been awarded with “Dedal de Oro” 2014 Award. He also became finalist in the Official Fashion National Awards of Spain granted by the Ministry of Industry in best upcoming designer category.
