  • In the 2002 remake, the Yawn starts out with an HP value of 3000, increasing to 4000 in the second encounter. This is in comparison to Chris' and Jill's HP values of 1400 and 960, respectively. In the Nintendo DS version of Resident Evil, a second Yawn is discovered upon returning to Point 42 (formerly occupied by Plant 42), this second one having developed hardened scales. In all versions, if the player gets bitten by Yawn, the only way to heal is by using the serum. Unfortunately, blue herbs don't work against its poison.

In Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Yawn is fought in the Nightmare 2 chapter by Rebecca Chambers and Richard Aiken, and as the final boss of the Mansion Incident 1 chapter by Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. The attic battle is omitted; the battle will always take place in the library. Both battles are exactly the same, except Yawn will chase Jill and Chris up onto the balcony, while in Rebecca and Richard's battle the Yawn will slither up to the balcony itself and attack you from above.
