- There are various kinds of Gods and Goddesses with different origins. While Shakti and Shiva are presumably truly divine, it was revealed that the Greek Gods were given their powers by the Elders from the essence to fight the Titans. However, the true nature of the Gods and Goddesses remains a mystery.
- Gods/ deities are immortal, spiritual beings. They vary in cultures in the way of style, character and ability. Most are percieved as all powerful, and benevolent. Captain Hatch claimed that He was going to make the Humans "fear the Gods". Perhaps some are good and others are bad. It is confirmed that the supreme being, God, exists and created most things in the universe and is the only true omnipotent being. The identities and powers of other "gods" are yet to be confirmed.
- The term "God(s)" or "Godess(es)" applies to any Witch, Warlock or other being that has gained divine or godlike powers. In The Elders's domain an ancient amphorae is kept as a vessel to contain an unnamed vapour, similar in nature to The Hollow and The Shadow. Like the Hollow, when released the vapour will seek out and occupy the body of whomever the releaser intended the vapour to occupy.
- In the beginning there was only vacuum. The One first created a place he named Heaven and his throne was called Order. He followed up his creation by letting 21 creatures into it. This new form he named Angels. He gave them the power of creation and commanded them to go out into the vacuum and fill it with creation that mirrored that of Heaven. After time some of the Angels, especially Agares, sensed that the One would take from them the power of Creation. This he felt was unjust to what they had done to Creation. Other Angels trusted the judgement of the One and opposed Agares and his followers. This seperated the Angels in three groups, where the one that sided with neither held their place in the middle.
- These are the 4 gods of Maridia: Oceana. goddess of water. Oceana`s shrine is located near the lake of tears. it looks like a platform with seaweed shaped columns incrusted with saphires. in the center of the platform there is a 10m wide scallop shell with water inside it. to keep Oceana happy the people who live on Maridia must each place a shell in this scallop once every year one the festival of water. when every one has placed a shell in this scallop the water bursts into dark blue flames this means that the island will have enough rain and water for the rest of the year. If the flames are glowing white then there might be a shell missing or a shell could be damaged or dirty this means there will be draughts and tidal waves.

Agares, still in control of the power of Creation decided to use his power to create infinite plains of raw material. When the One finally stripped Agares of his power he had enough material continue creation to the end of time. After Agares was stripped of his power he continued to create. He made his own world that he named Nyx, which did not mirror that of Heaven, but was made of his own desires. When the One discovered this it was too late for him to act without destroying all of Creation. So immense was his holiness. Unwilling to destory creation he banned all the Angels from Heaven to live in Creation until his return to separate the Good from the Evil . Inferno. goddess of fire Inferno`s shrine is located in the barrens. it is a platform floating 1m above the ground there are steps up to the platform and in the center there is a 5m high column of fire. every year on the festival of fire the people Maridia must burn a single hair from their head to show their loyalty. if the fire keeps burning then Inferno will protect the island from unwanted visitors like pirates but if the fire extinguishes then the will be no protection there will be no protection and ships and planes will find the island and take the people of Maridia for testing and kill them.
