  • Forward roll is a circus trick used during Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza in the Agility section. It has a suggested level of 80 Agility to perform. This emote can only be used on the tight rope. It grants 1354 experience.
  • A forward roll, or roulade (roll) in French, is a parkour and free running technique used to land safely out of a drop from a high object. They allow the force of the fall to be distributed over a larger surface area to soften the fall and prevent injury. Rolls also allow forward momentum to be maintain, which enables a traceur or free runner to stay in constant motion. The roll is identical to kaiten or "breakfalling" used in judo, jujutsu, aikido, etc. The roll is often stressed as the most important technique to learn in parkour.
  • The Forward Roll is an attack that is used simply by pressing Image:B button (N64).png while running. It is a basic but useful attack, and although it does not do as much damage and is not as easily controlled as the Rat-a-tat Rap, it is especially handy for dealing with enemies which are low to the ground. In Banjo-Tooie, Kazooie uses her wings to assist Banjo in rolling, which, although it does serve to increase the speed and maneuverability of the attack, was most likely implemented so that Banjo would have to learn a new attack in order to be able to fight on his own.

The Forward Roll can also be learned from Bozzeye in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge. Bozzeye teaches it to Banjo in Cliff Farm for the price of 60 Musical Notes. The ability is performed exactly as it is in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie by pressing Image:B button (GBA).png while running. It still deals little damage to enemies but it is easier to control.
