Luckily, Findlay showed improvement in two other starts that year, returning to New Oxford just three months later to finish 6th and then tacking on a 13th place run at Old Bridge Stadium. Findlay's busiest year would be the next, finishing a career-high 61st in points during the 1958 season. It was a soild year for the driver, finishing no worse than a 16th place effort back at Lincoln. But Findlay ran well at new tracks to the driver, finishing 13th at Old Dominion Speedway and 11th at Old Bridge. He then closed out the year with a career-best 5th place run for the driver, recording the finish at Richmond. Findlay's final career start came in 1959, when he raced at Reading Fairgrounds. Starting positions in the field of twenty-five are unknown, but Findlay had hose issues midway through the event to finish 17th.
