| abstract | - Trey Connel was the sixth Emperor of the Galaxy (Y1 D212 to Y1 D320). He had previously served as Imperial Army Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff to Emperor Piett. During his long service as Army Chief of Staff, Connel's relationship with his naval counterpart, Gorn Veynom, was notoriously stormy and culminated in mutual accusations of treason. The only Imperial Army officer to ever serve as Emperor, Connel's reign was brief and most notable for the defection by supporters of his rival, Gorn Veynom, to form the Imperial Core. After his abdication in favour of Mccarthur, Connel disappeared for a period before returning as Minister of Defence. Many years later, during the reign of Emperor Vodo Bonias, he would again serve as Army Chief of Staff.
