  • The Politics of Contraband
  • Kick off your 'Summer of SWTOR'!
  • As a weapon, an axe in one hand is a good match for a sturdy shield in the other. In combat against multiple foes, an axe permits rapid attack without a sacrifice of defensive balance. Combat axes come in many shapes and qualities and are quite effective against weak and untrained opposition, such as barroom thugs and bandits of the highway.
  • With a double-sided two foot blade, a warrior wielding a battle axe can really wage war. The axe is a favorite among Tinkers, as many of them are workers of wood and metal.

  • You're right. This dog Lucky is not to blame. I should turn my anger on the ones who deserve it. The longpaws who locked me in here!
  • You're one of Morningstar's pups, aren't you? Yet you're a traitor to your own kind! We Fierce Dogs do not take orders from lesser dogs!
  • The longpaws will pay for this! They are not like my masters. My masters were good, and strong, and clever. But my masters are gone, and I am a Free Dog now. No creature keeps Axe in a cage!

  • Axe was a biological weapon used by The Shepherds which was appropriated by Dan Dare.
  • An axe is a single- or double-bladed weapon made from a metal or stone head mounted on a haft of varying length. The haft is usually made of wood to reduce the overall weight. The term "axe" is used here as an archetype of hand-held slashing weapons that fit this description and where the blade length is considerably less then the overall weapon length. Axes are the favoured weapons of many fighters and barbarians (especially dwarves).
  • Axe is a BAHRAM Orbital Frame runner featured as a boss character in Zone of the Enders. He pilots Tyrant and is apparently mentally unstable, as he admitted that he did not know why he fought upon being asked by Leo. It should be noted that like his comrades Slash and Nightraid, "Axe" is a codename and his real name is unknown.
  • An axe is a kind of melee weapon. Axes do an extra d4 damage against wood golems. Axes are throwable, and quite useful on doors because it always succeeds on a normal door, but will not destroy a shop door. You can also apply an axe to a tree but it is not currently possible to apply them to corpses. Barbarians start with an axe 50% of the time.
  • Woodcutting tool for all classes. Requires level 10. Minimum Attack Bonus: +1 Maximum Attack Bonus: +1 Ronaldo
  • The Axe is a Rank 1 two-handed axe. Equivalent ethereal version: None known.
  • The axe (known as a hatchet in Runescape Classic) is the tool necessary for Woodcutting. It is classified as a melee weapon, available in all varieties of metal, although its power and speed are less favourable than some other weapons. Axes can also be used to slash webs. All axes available to free players can be smithed.
  • Axe is a strength based weapon proficiency used when fighting with axe type weapons. * +1.5 hit rate per level * +0.1 damage multiplier per 10 levels
  • Axes are a type of melee weapon that can also utilise the woodcutting skill to obtain logs from trees. All axes can be used to cut wood at any woodcutting level, however, they require the appropriate attack level to be wielded as a weapon. Although the dragon axe bears the same name in RuneScape Classic, it cannot be used to cut wood, and is often considered a battle axe.
  • Axes are very simple, they have a blade and the end of a wooden stick though the handle may also be made of fiberglass or steel. The blades are now made of metal, though the first axes were definetly stone. Various type of axes have been made for many reasons; for example, one axe might have a curvier blade than another to cut a certain type of tree, or a battleaxe might be slightly longer than another. Other things like the material of the axe can change how it works. There are also throwing axes, which are designed for throwing and are very light. Axes are powerful, however most of them will require a decent amount of stregnth to carry or use. An axe is a tool used for chopping or splitting objects, such as tree limbs or logs. Axes come in multiple sizes, and are used for different purposes. Its used to cut or split large pieces of wood. Also appropriate for cutting dead branches, twigs and firewood, and can be operated with 1 hand. Axes can also be double blades, a blade at the top, and below its handle. Axes are one of the oldest known weapons, as some have been found from 6000 B.C. Axes are also known as hatchets, which is actually a different kind of weapon related to the axe.
  • The Axe is a blunt weapon used by Druids. Possessing two blades, the Axe is used to mow and chop down enemies. Ironically, despite being a nature lover's weapon, Axes are primarily used to chop down trees.
  • An axe (UK spelling) or ax (US spelling) is an implement consisting of a sharp metal or flint head on a haft, or handle, which is usually wooden. Axes can have one or two blades and be used with one or two hands, depending on the size of the head and length of the haft. They can be used for chopping wood, as a ceremonial symbol, or, as is more common in the PPC, as a weapon. In the latter capacity, they can even be thrown. Dwarves from many continua are closely associated with axes, especially the ones that don't get along with trees. Gimli, a Dwarf of Middle-earth, famously wields an axe. In the movies, he uses no less than five different types. Agent Laburnum received an axe as a present from the Official Fanfiction University of Redwall after the purging of That Series, and treasures it.
  • Axes were primarily used by the Dwarves as weapons. A famous user of this weapon is Gimli. Dain's dwarves were described as wielding "two-handed mattocks". The weapons of the Dwarves had long handles to extend their reach and increase their impact. There were several different types of axes, including single-bladed and double-bladed axes as well as throwing axes. Many Dwarves carried more than one Axe. The throwing axe had a foot-long handle and kept most of its weight in the blade, to increase the force with which it would hit the target. It had a range of only ten yards or so and was much smaller than the walking axe. A walking axe had a square handle and was about three feet long; it had a single blade so the user could use it as a walking staff. Unlike their depiction in many fiction settings, double bladed axes (also called double-bitted axes) are used in logging, while battle axes have one blade, and sometimes a spike. An Axe could also be used as tool, serving multiple purposes. The Sindar of the First Age were lightly armed in battle, and used axes as well. Some of the Orcs of Mordor and Minas Morgul also used crude axes. Hurin used an axe before he was captured by Morgoth's forces. He used it to slay most of Gothmog's troll bodyguard, before the troll's blood melted the blade. Many of the Beornings, most famously Beorn, were known to have wielded axes to chop wood and to use as a primary weapon. Saruman's Orc-men were noted to have used battle axes. Axes were one of the four main weapons used by the Rohirrim.

  • The axe (or ax) is an implement that has been used for millennia to shape, split and cut wood; to harvest timber; as a weapon; and as a or heraldic symbol. The axe has many forms and specialised uses but generally consists of an axe head with a handle, or helve. Before the modern axe, the stone-age hand axe was used from 1.5 million years BP without a handle. It was later fastened to a wooden handle. The earliest examples of handled axes have heads of stone with some form of wooden handle attached (hafted) in a method to suit the available materials and use. Axes made of copper, bronze, iron, steel appeared as these technologies developed. The axe is an example of a simple machine, as it is a type of wedge, or dual inclined plane. This reduces the effort needed by the wood chopper. It splits the wood into two parts by the pressure concentration at the blade. The handle of the axe also acts as a lever allowing the user to increase the force at the cutting edge—not using the full length of the handle is known as choking the axe. For fine chopping using a side axe this sometimes is a positive effect, but for felling with a double bitted axe it reduces efficiency. Generally, cutting axes have a shallow wedge angle, whereas splitting axes have a deeper angle. Most axes are double bevelled, i.e. symmetrical about the axis of the blade, but some specialist broadaxes have a single bevel blade, and usually an offset handle that allows them to be used for finishing work without putting the user's knuckles at risk of injury. Less common today, they were once an integral part of a joiner and carpenter's tool kit, not just a tool for use in forestry. A tool of similar origin is the billhook. However in France and Holland the billhook often replaced the axe as a joiner's bench tool.[citation needed] Most modern axes have steel heads and wooden handles, typically hickory in the US and ash in Europe, although plastic or fibreglass handles are also common. Modern axes are specialised by use, size and form. Hafted axes with short handles designed for use with one hand are often called hand axes but the term hand axe refers to axes without handles as well. Hatchets tend to be small hafted axes often with a hammer on the back side (the poll). As easy-to-make weapons, axes have frequently been used in combat.

It was used in Incident: 001A by Hank to throw some l33t agents into a giant blender before finally being thrown at a Mag Agent: V2. The older version of the axe can be used in Madness Interactive, and can be a one-hit kill to enemies, depending on what perks you pick while playing. It is also a blade featured in Madness: Project Nexus.

  • Axes boast a higher attack stat boost than other weapons, allowing them to deal larger amounts of damage to enemies. Axes also have a shield break effect, allowing the player to attack an enemy with a shield like normal. However, they attack slower than other weapon types. They also generally allow for two to three hits per attack. In addition, when the player is swinging an axe they do not flinch, allowing the swing to be completed regardless of whatever damage he or she receives (with the obvious exceptions being an out-of-HP knockout or a status effect). Rallen and Jeena first obtain Axes on Kogoeria. When fighting a Krawl while looking for Kamtoga, they find that their weapons do nothing against it. However, Kamtoga gives them to Cosmo Axe, which allows them to break through the Krawl's guard and defeat it.
  • Axe is a huge, large dark black-and-brown male Fierce Dog with black eyes, pricked, trimmed ears, bare patches on his flank, and a pointed snout.
  • Axe is the starter weapon for Kongol. It's by far the strongest starter weapon, but will appear when Kongol joins Dart's party in the middle of disc 2 at the Home of Gigantos.
  • Merlin carried a simple edged axe to cut wood, while Will pursued him and said that he didn't need an axe to fell a tree (The Moment of Truth).
  • The Axe is a handy tool to have, although not mandatory. It is used to chop wood-related blocks, such as Chests, Crafting Tables, and Wood much faster than with another tool or the hand of a player. Axes do .5 less damage than a Sword of their type, and attacking with an Axe does double the durability deduction; therefore, Axes should not be used for fighting except as a last-ditch resort - or if you're willing to spend more tool-making material and Sticks than a sword for less damage and less durability. Note that Axes are not mandatory and are only used for their increased speed in chopping wood-related blocks.
