  • The Telos Academy Council was a satellite administrative body subservient to the Council of First Knowledge. A seven member Council, these Jedi Masters were appointed to govern the Jedi Academy located on the planet Telos IV in the Kwymar sector of the Outer Rim. The academy itself was housed within an old irrigation compound deep beneath the sheet ice which covered the polar region of the planet. The structure had been converted into an academy in the wake of the Jedi Civil War in 3,924 BrS by Vierra Atris, a leading member of the Jedi High Council. The academy never opened however, as Atris descended into the dark side when she was corrupted by the Sith holocrons she stored in the academy's vaults.

The academy was eventually opened as an isolated place of study, and a refuge for artifacts that the Order hoped to preserve against a Sith assault. When the Sith ceased to be a threat in the wake of the Ruusan Reformations, the Order slowly began to close the facility, with the last of the holocrons removed a few decades prior to the Clone Wars. After the war concluded, a new Jedi High Council decided to reopen all of its former locations across the galaxy as a means of extending the Order's presence into every star system. Reopening the Telos location as a Ranger Academy, the school was dedicated to the study of data storage methods, becoming a hub for Jedi archivists and researchers searching for new ways to encrypt, store, and collect data.
