(DS9 episode: "Soldiers of the Empire") By 2379, Tavana held the rank of captain and was in command of a fleet patrolling the Pheben system. Rov, a member of the Klingon rebel group Klahb, used Pheben V to broadcast a message to the entire Klingon Empire. Rov revealed that Emperor Kahless was a hologram and he blamed the Federation for the deception. Rov also demanded that Chancellor Martok step down and that the Empire end its alliance with the Federation. Martok ordered that the transmission be ended immediately and Captain Tavana was able to destroy the only energy source on the planet. It was unclear whether Rov was using a relay station or simply a recording, but his body was never found. (TNG novel: A Time for War, A Time for Peace)
