He graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2273 with honors. Vlekkenbaaij was involved in Operation Blackjack in the late 2280's. (Star Trek: Shadowstar Station: Operation Blackjack) In 2292, he was posted to USS Avenger on temporary assigned duty as ship's intelligence officer. (Star Trek: Avenger: "Belonging") In 2313, Vlekkenbaaij was revealed to be an agent of the Terran Purification League and part of a cell that had killed Andreas Kitabatu al-'Qalb's wife, Laurena Cytrynbaum, and unborn child in 2298.
