  • Bob Havemann is a former NASCAR driver from Eureka, CA. He competed in eleven Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning four top-tens. Havemann's initial foray into the sport came during the 1954 season, when he competed in two events to finish 68th in points, which proved to be a career-high. Havemann got off to a running start, impressing everyone with an 8th place finish at Oakland in his debut. He quickly proved it was no fluke, showing 11th at Gardena in his next outing. Havemann tagged on three more starts during the 1955 season, which proved just as successful for the driver. He went for the Southwestern stretch of the Cup (then Grand National) tour, starting off the year with a ninth place finish at Phoenix. But Havemann managed to better that, finishing a career-best 6th at Tuscon before ending the year 19th at San Mateo. Havemann continued to up his schedule, competing in four races during the 1956 season. Surprisingly, he struggled a bit when he started the year off at his home track in Eureka. Nineteen laps down, Havemann finished that race in 16th and only fared 15th when the circuit visited Portland. But the high and low points of the year were really the next two races, as an outside pole-turned-eighth-place run at Sacramento was balanced out by a 31st place struggle at San Mateo. Havemann's schedule began to wane by 1957, with the driver only competing at his home track of Eureka during the season. He fared little better than he had the previous year, as he started 6th but faded to 12th in the fifteen car field due to a rear end gear failure. Havemann's final career start then came during the 1958 season, when Havemann made laps around the Sacramento track. It was a respectable end to the driver's career, as he completed all but nine laps to finish in 13th.
