  • Because of its abundance of flowers and its shape, some connect the hydrangea to boastfulness. Others suggest that this plant is a symbol of gratefulness and heartfelt feelings. It symbolizes vanity and frigidity. It is a symbolic way to say "Thank you for understanding"
  • Hydrangea is a water talent fairy. Even though one of her most notable appearances are within the Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure Nintendo DS video game, she does appear alongside Silvermist and some of the other water-talent fairies during Tinker Bell's arrival ceremony in the first Tinker Bell movie. She also makes a few appearances in some of the books. Hydrangea always wears blue eye shadow.
  • The Hydrangea is a Bloom in FarmVille. It is available as a single or a full bloom.
  • Hydrangea (; common names Hydrangea and Hortensia) is a genus of about 70 to 75 species of flowering plants native to southern and eastern Asia (China, Japan, Korea, the Himalayas, and Indonesia) and North and South America. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably China, Japan, and Korea. Most are shrubs 1 to 3 meters tall, but some are small trees, and others lianas reaching up to 30 metres by climbing up trees. They can be either deciduous or evergreen, though the widely cultivated temperate species are all deciduous.
  • The Hydrangea is the Head of the Department of Trans-Dimensional Hopping and Snatching. The halls leading up to its office are blue, painted with photo-realistic clouds. The Hydrangea itself is a no-nonsense sort of Plant that expects a lot of its agents. It was unmoved when Meg Thorton demanded a partner, yet regarded her with a methodical, sensible demeanor. The Hydrangea may dislike annoying singing or loud noises, but it may just be that '99 Bottles of Beer' is annoying to just about anybody.

Having been introduced to the Azores Islands of Portugal, they are now very common there, particularly on Faial Island, which is known as the "blue island" due to the vast number of hydrangeas present on the island, and on Flores Island. Species in the related genus Schizophragma, also in Hydrangeaceae, are also often known as hydrangeas. Schizophragma hydrangeoides and Hydrangea petiolaris are both commonly known as climbing hydrangeas. There are two flower arrangements in hydrangeas. Mophead flowers are large round flowerheads resembling pom-poms or, as the name implies, the head of a mop. In contrast, lacecap flowers bear round, flat flowerheads with a center core of subdued, fertile flowers surrounded by outer rings of showy, sterile flowers.
  • Because of its abundance of flowers and its shape, some connect the hydrangea to boastfulness. Others suggest that this plant is a symbol of gratefulness and heartfelt feelings. It symbolizes vanity and frigidity. It is a symbolic way to say "Thank you for understanding"

The Hydrangea may dislike annoying singing or loud noises, but it may just be that '99 Bottles of Beer' is annoying to just about anybody. The Hydrangea is both pink and blue. In mundane hydrangea plants, this is caused by soil acidity — it's possible that the Hydrangea invokes this purposefully for cosmetic value.
