  • Aran Ryan is an Irish boxer from Punch Out! who is known for his cheating habits, unstable personality and aggressive nature both in and out of the ring - making him arguably more antagonist than the other boxers in the game. • Aran Ryan is an Irish boxer from Punch Out! who is known for his cheating habits, unstable personality and aggressive nature both in and out of the ring - making him arguably more antagonist than the other boxers in the game. Although most of the boxers in the series use outlandish powers that would not be allowed in real-world boxing Aran Ryan is shown to be a prolific cheater even by the game's standards and is also fairly malicious, especially in his second fight. Aran Ryan is also cemented as a "heel" (sports-based villain) due to the crowds turning on him and throwing bottles and food at him, to which he threatens them with physical violence due to his hot-temper. It should be noted that in his first appearance, Super Punch-Out!, he was not evil and is the only boxer with no clear personality to speak of.

In the Wii game, Aran Ryan is one of the few characters from Super Punch-Out!! (note: SNES version) to make an appearance. He is twenty three years old in the series and weighs 160 pounds. The game Punch-Out!! shows him with a design change. Also, his personality is fleshed out. He is a crafty, cheating Irishman who clearly breaks the rules. He is incredibly hyperactive in this game, and never stands still in the same place for more than a few seconds. To do any real damage to him, the player must counter all of his attacks. He is not above using headbutts, elbows, and even a weapon (a weighted boxing glove ties to a rope) to win. During the second time he fights Little Mac, the crowd knows he's cheating and throw trash at him. Also, the Ref tries to restrain him, but is assaulted by him. It is safe to say that Aran Ryan is a little insane.
