  • The Stiletto consisted of a stretchable armband, on top of which was mounted the full workings of the blaster. The barrel was short, being just over three inches, and the power pack receiver was situated at the rear of the barrel. Although the original design allowed for the power pack to hold enough blaster gas for up to five-hundred shots, this made the blaster too bulky to be comfortably worn and concealed on the wrist, so the ammo capacity was reduced to merely two-hundred shots.

abstract
  • The Stiletto consisted of a stretchable armband, on top of which was mounted the full workings of the blaster. The barrel was short, being just over three inches, and the power pack receiver was situated at the rear of the barrel. Although the original design allowed for the power pack to hold enough blaster gas for up to five-hundred shots, this made the blaster too bulky to be comfortably worn and concealed on the wrist, so the ammo capacity was reduced to merely two-hundred shots. This reduction in ammunition capacity was the Stiletto's main weakness; the weapon's extreme rate of fire could burn through the power pack within barely half a minute when fired on automatic, and this in turn could make frequent reloads necessary during any heated fire-fight. Due to this, the Stiletto was far more useful as a form of concealed, hold-out blaster, to be used as a last resort or as a close range support weapon. The blaster's neuro-controls were somewhat tricky to accustom to as well. Although a wearer could take most target's down by aiming their fist at them and thinking shoot, if they became overtly agitated or frightened, such emotions could interfere with the blaster's neurological interpretation software, which could cause the weapon to malfunction by firing off bolts without the intent of the wearer. The Stiletto was also fairly weak when compared to other, hand-held blasters. Although a few direct shots could punch through most light armors, the weapon was essentially useless against hardier species, unless a weak spot was hit, and heavy combat armor was beyond the Stiletto's ability to pierce. However, despite it's weaknesses, the Stiletto was among the favored weapons of many, due to it's light-weight and compactness, considerable stopping power, and easy to use and carry design. Shadow Marshals were known to frequently carry these weapons as well.
