  • [The episode begins with a view of Phil and Lil as thunder booms and lightning flashes. An instrumental of "Kumbaya" plays as the camera moves from them, past Chuckie, Tommy, and Dil, until it reaches Angelica. Everyone is roasting marshmallows over Angelica's battery-powered campfire, save for Dil, who is cooing as he plays with a wooden block. Thunder booms and lightning flashes again as Angelica eats her marshmallow. It booms again, scaring Chuckie, who hides under his blanket.] Chuckie: "Oh, I'd never gone campin' with you guys if I'd've known it was gonna rain! What if we get hit by frighting?" Tommy: "Don't worry, Chuckie, we'll be okay by the fire!" [Thunder booms and lightning flashes again.] Chuckie: "Aaaah!" [Thunder booms and lightning flashes again.] Angelica: "Hey, you babies better keep cookin' those marshmallows, or I won't let you sleep in my Cynthia tent tonight! [Tommy, Chuckie, Phil and Lil all place their marshmallows over the battery-powered campfire.] Tommy: "Hmmm. So, should we sing a song?" Angelica: "Nah, nobody sings around a campfire! But I happen to know what the growed-up thing to do is!" Tommy: "What's that?" Angelica: "Tell scary stories!" Phil: "You mean 'bout witches and goats?" Lil: "And gobblies and monsters?" Angelica: "Yep!" Chuckie: "But I don't like scary stories, Angelica! What if one of the gobblies jumps out of the story and grabs us?" Angelica: "You mean like that one?" [Angelica points behind Chuckie. Chuckie looks behind himself and sees his shadow.] Chuckie: "Aaaah!" [Chuckie hides under his blanket in fear.] Tommy: "Don't worry, Chuckie! Nothing bad can happen! Uh, scary stories is just make-believe!" Angelica: "Now, pay attentions! Since I'm the grown-up kid around here, I'm gonna teach you the bestest way to tell scary stories. I'll start tellin' a part of it, then you babies take turns tellin' the rest of it. Got it?" [Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil all nod their heads, "Yes" in unison.] Angelica: "This is gonna be the most scariest story you ever heared!" [Thunder booms and lightning flashes.] Angelica: "Once 'pon a time, there was a spooky old house, high up on a hill!" [The camera moves up to the window. Thunder booms and lightning flashes, which is used as a transition to the next scene, where a haunted house is shown on a hill. As Angelica narrates, the camera moves up the house until it reaches the attic, where a light shines on the window.] Angelica (narrating): "Nobody lived in the old house, but way, way, way, way up in the attic, there was a light that shined out every night. Everybody wondered what the light was, but they was all too a-scared to go look! Then, one day, the scarediest little boy in the world, also known as, Chuckie Finster!" [A bat flies past the camera, and is used as a transition to the next scene, where Chuckie is hiding under his blanket.] Chuckie: "Aaaah!" [Angelica points at Chuckie.] Angelica: "Decided to go into the house." Chuckie: "Me?" Tommy: "Wow, that's really brave, Chuckie!" [Phil points at Chuckie.] Phil: "Yeah, 'specially for the scarediest boy in the whole world!" [Chuckie throws down his blanket in rebuttal.] Chuckie: "Hey, I'm not the scarediest boy in the whole world!" Angelica: "Yeah? Prove it, Finster!" Chuckie: "Uh, you mean right now? Uh, but how, Angelica?" Angelica: "Go inside the house, and see what's making the light in the attic!" Tommy: "Come on, Chuckie! You can do it!" Lil: "Yeah, showed her you're not a-scared!" [Chuckie gulps.] Chuckie: "Well, uh, all right." [In the next scene, Chuckie is outside the haunted house.] Chuckie: "Now what?" Angelica (narrating): "Well, first the scaredy boy walked up to the spooky house!" [Chuckie turns to face the haunted house, and the reflection of it can be seen in his glasses. He gasps upon seeing it, then shudders as he walks towards it.] Angelica (narrating): "He went up to the dusty, old stairs. Step by step, inch by inch," [Chuckie walks up the stairs, but stops when a black cat yowls at him.] Chuckie: "Aaaah! I'm not going in there!" [Chuckie runs away, panting heavily.] Tommy: "Chuckie, wait!" [In the next scene, Tommy is talking to Angelica.] Tommy: "Angelica, you said we was gonna take turns tellin' the story! Why don't you let Chuckie tell it now?" Angelica: "Oh, all right! But he'd better not mess it up!" [Angelica points at Chuckie.] Chuckie: "Thanks, Tommy." [In the next scene, Chuckie walks up to the front door of the haunted house.] Chuckie (narrating): "So, um, the, the boy opened the door," [Chuckie opens the door and gasps. In the next scene, a beatiful-looking room with flower-themed wallpaper, toys, a couch, and bowls of candy can be seen.] Chuckie (narrating): "And, he finded the most beautifulest room with lots of flowers and big fluffy pillows, and bowls filled to the top with yummy candy!" [Chuckie walks up to the bowl, takes a piece of candy, and eats it. Chuckie then giggles as he takes the bowl of candy and walks onto the couch, where he eats another piece of candy.] Chuckie (narrating): "And so, the house wasn't haunted after all, and the scaredy little boy wasn't scared no more, the end!" [In the next scene, Angelica berates Chuckie for his lousy storytelling.] Angelica: "What?! You can't end it like that! That wasn't even scary!" [Chuckie hides under his blanket as Angelica walks up to him.] Angelica: "A scary story doesn't gots flowers and fluffy pillows and candy! Now tell it right, or I'll start tellin' it again! Chuckie: "Yes, Angelica." [Thunder booms and lightning flashes, which is used as a transition to the next scene, continuing where the story left off.] Chuckie (narrating): "So, so, the... then the boy, he opened the door, and..." [Chuckie opens the door and walks inside. He looks around, and sees the room is a lot more run-down than it was the last time he told the story.] Chuckie (narrating): "And, uh, well, the room was kinda dark, and there... there was pillows," [Chuckie walks up to the couch and sits on it. He picks up a pillow, only to find out it's as hard as a brick.] Chuckie (narrating): "But they was hard and lumpy!" [Chuckie throws the pillow at the couch's armrest, tearing it. He gasps, then jumps off the couch, in front of a bowl of candy.] Chuckie (narrating): "And, uh, the candy was..." [Chuckie picks up a piece of candy and eats it, then spits it out when he finds out it tastes terrible. It lands on his hand.] Chuckie: "Yuck!" [Chuckie looks at the piece of candy on his hand, revealing it to be covered in hair.] Chuckie (narrating): "Yucky." Angelica: "That's a little better. But what about the scary stuff, like the cobwebs, and the spooky pictures on the wall?" [A cobweb appears, and Chuckie gasps. He then looks up at a picture of a lady on the wall, which scowls at him.] Chuckie: "Aaaah! Uh, oh, uh, yeah, um, oh, I... I guess I forgot about that stuff, huh?" Angelica: "And don't forget about that loud 'thump thump'!" [A loud thumping noise can be heard.] Angelica: "Comin' from behind the closet door!" [Chuckie walks up to the closet door.] Chuckie (narrating): "Uh... and then-then-then-then he-e-e-e-e turn-turned, the..." Angelica: "Oh, for pete's sake!" (narrating) "He turned the knob, and opened the door, and," [Chuckie opens the door, revealing a cloud of dust behind it. When the dust clears, Phil and Lil, dressed as a spooky Gothic butler and maid, respectively, are behind the door.] Angelica (narrating): "There stood the ickiest, stinkiest, creepiest, scariest peoples anyone ever sawed!" [Thunder booms and lightning flashes, transitioning back to Phil and Lil.] Phil: "Hey, this is startin' to get good!" Lil: "Yeah, we wanna tell the story now!" Angelica: "All right, but it better be good and scary!" [Thunder booms and lightning flashes, transitioning back to the story.] Chuckie: "Um, uh, uh, wha... what are you doing in the closet, creepy peoples?" Phil: "Having lunch!" [Phil grabs a spider crawling down the cobweb on Lil's back, and is about to eat it, when Lil stops him.] Lil: "That was my spider, Phillip!" Phil: "Was not, Lillian!" [Thunder booms and lightning flashes.] Chuckie, Phil, and Lil: "Aaaah!" Angelica: "Get on with the story already!" [Phil and Lil walk away.] Phil and Lil: "Okay!" Phil (narrating): "So anyways, the creepy peoples leaded the boy to the stairs." [In the story, Phil and Lil lead Chuckie to the stairs. Chuckie looks up and sees how high and twisted the stairs are.] Chuckie: "Aaaah!" [Phil and Lil climb up the stairs, as the bars suddenly start drooling. Chuckie tries to walk up the stairs, but trips and grabs onto a bar.] Chuckie: "Whoa! Ugh! Oh, yuck! What is this stuff?" [Lil picks some drool off one of the bars.] Lil: "It looks like baby drool!" Phil: "Hey, I didn't put no drool in the story!" [Chuckie looks at the drool on his hand, and in the next scene, a close-up of Dil drooling can be seen. Dil coos as he drools, then blows a raspberry.] Tommy: "Oh! It looks like Dil's trying to help with the story, too!" [Tommy picks up a tissue and wipes Dil's mouth with it.] Lil: "Well, tell him to wait his turn!" [Thunder booms and lightning flashes, transitioning back to the story.] Lil (narrating): "Anyways, the creepy peoples were showing the boy the way to the attic." [Phil, Lil, and Chuckie all walk up the stairs. Chuckie, who is getting tired, pants heavily.] Chuckie: "Gee, guys, I'm gettin' kinda tired!" Phil: "Okay, we don't have to walk no more." Chuckie: "We don't?" Phil: "Nope, we can get a ride." [A giant worm appears and crawls up the stairs. Phil and Lil hop on his back.] Chuckie: "Ewww! I'm not gettin' on that thing and..." [The worm grabs Chuckie with his mouth and puts him down on his back.] Chuckie: "Aaaah! Oh!" [Phil and Lil giggle as the giant worm crawls up the stairs, carrying them and Chuckie on his back.] Chuckie: "Eek!" Angelica: "A big worm?" [In the next scene, Angelica is berating Phil and Lil for adding a giant worm to the story.] Angelica: "That's not scary, that's just gross! The way you babies are messin' up my story, we're never gonna get to the attic! From now on, I'm tellin' it my way!" [Back in the story, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil are now at the top of the stairs.] Chuckie: "Ugh! Yeah? Well, you know, maybe, I... I... I just don't like the way you tell the story!" [Chuckie walks up to what looks like a white chair.] Chuckie: "Maybe I'll just stay right here!" [Chuckie sits down in what looks like a chair with a white sheet over it.] Angelica: "Sure, Chuckie. Stay right there." [Chuckie gasps.] Angelica: "Just watch out for the great, big, ugly, spooky old ghost!" [Chuckie gasps as what looks like a white sheet is revealed to be a ghost. Chuckie turns to face the ghost, who wails at him.] Chuckie: "Aaaah!" [Chuckie runs away as the ghost chases him.] Chuckie: "Tommy! Help!" Tommy: "Don't worry, Chuckie! I'm gonna tell the story now!" (narrating) "And I say the ghost chasing the little boy wasn't really that big!" [The ghost bursts into a cloud of dust. When the dust clears, a ghost version of Tommy is revealed.] Tommy (narrating): "Actually, he was kinda cute!" Angelica: "A cute ghost? That's not scary!" Tommy: "Come on, Chuckie! I'll help you get to the attic!" [Just as Tommy floats away, a cloud of dust appears in front of him. When the dust clears, Angelica, who is dressed as a ghost and a witch riding a broomstick, appears from it. Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil all gasp when they see her.] Angelica: "Not so fast, Scaredy Boy!" [Angelica laughs wickedly as she flies up to Chuckie.] Angelica: "That attic door won't open without a key!" Tommy: "Tell us where the key is, Angelica!" Angelica: "It's right behind one of those doors!" [Angelica points to the doors in the hallway. Chuckie gasps when he sees them.] Chuckie: "Oh, no! We'll never find it!" Tommy: "Sure we will, Chuckie! Come on, you guys! Let's start looking!" [A view of a hole in the attic, with two rats looking below is shown as Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil all walk up to separate doors. Chuckie opens his door and sees Ickis, Krumm, and Oblina from Aaahh! Real Monsters watching his reflection on a TV screen. Oblina is holding a newspaper, and she, Ickis, and Krumm all turn to face Chuckie. Chuckie gasps.] Chuckie, Ickis, Krumm, and Oblina: "Aaaah!" [Chuckie shuts the door in fear. Lil opens her door and sees a cyclops monster from Aaahh! Real Monsters exercising on a stationary bicycle. He growls at her, and she shuts the door in fear and wimpers. Phil then opens his door and gasps when he sees a purple monster from Aaahh! Real Monsters using a toilet in the stall. The monster groans.] Phil: "Aaaah!" [Phil shuts the door in fear. Tommy opens his door and sees a red monster from Aaahh! Real Monsters eating from a bowl. The monster sees Tommy and roars at him.] Tommy: "Aaaah!" [Tommy shuts the door in fear. He, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil all back up near a door.] Chuckie: "Uh, Tommy, I-I don't think these monsters like us botherin' em!" Angelica: "You got that right, scaredy boy! Get em', monsters!" [The monsters all open their doors and walk up to Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil, growling at them.] Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil: "Aaaah!" [The monsters continue growling as they get closer to Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil.] Tommy: "Wait! You monsters don't want to eat us!" Ickis: "Why not? Ha ha!" Tommy: "Uh, cause, um... uh, there, there's... a yummy chocolate pudding... downstairs in the kitchen!" Krumm: "Hmmm... chocolate pudding or babies?" Oblina: "Hmmm, it is a very hard decision. What do you think, Icky?" [Ickis walks up to Chuckie and licks him. Tommy, Phil, and Lil all back away as he does this.] Ickis: "Oh! Ha ha ha ha ha! Definitely pudding!" [The monsters all run down the stairs, and Angelica watches them as they do.] Ickis: "Good, I love chocolate! Ha ha ha ha ha!" Angelica: "Hey, where do you monsters think you're going? Get back here and be scary!" [Angelica flies after the monsters. Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil are all standing on the Welcome Mat. Tommy looks down, sees a key underneath, and gasps.] Tommy: "Look, Chuckie! It's the key!" [Tommy picks up the key and hands it to Chuckie.] Chuckie: "Duh... duh... duh... I-I guess it's time to go up to the attic." [Chuckie turns face to the door and puts the key in the keyhole. He turns the key, and the door opens.] Chuckie: "Wow! It doesn't look so scary up there at all! [Chuckie looks up at the doorway at the top of the stairs.] Chuckie: "Let's go, guys!" [Tommy, Phil, Lil, and Chuckie all walk up the stairs. Just then, Angelica grabs Chuckie's ankle and pulls him back.] Chuckie: "Aaaah!" Angelica: "That pudding trick might work on dumb monsters, but it don't work on smart witches like me!" Chuckie: "Um, Angelica, there's a giant worm behind you!" [The giant worm crawls up to Angelica.] Angelica: "Yeah, right. What do you think, Finster, I was bored yesterday?" [The giant worm kisses Angelica on the cheek, leaving slime on it.] Angelica: "Uch! Yuck!" [Angelica wipes the slime off her cheek.] Angelica: "Worm kisses!" [Chuckie giggles, then turns to face the viewers.] Chuckie (to the viewers): "Tellin' scary stories is fun!" [Chuckie walks up the stairs.] Angelica: "Hey, come back here, Babies!" [Chuckie reaches the top of the stairs, where Tommy, Phil, and Lil all are. He shuts the door and locks it with the key. Tommy points at the right side of the screen.] Tommy: "Look, you guys!" [A view of a bedroom with a giant teddy bear night-light is shown.] Tommy: "The light's comin' from that giant night-light!" Chuckie: "Gee, it's kinda nice up here!" [Chuckie, Tommy, Phil, and Lil all walk up to the bed. Chuckie yawns.] Chuckie: "Uh, you know what, guys? This bed looks awful comforble." [Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil all climb onto the bed and get under the covers.] Lil: "It is comforble!" [As Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil all fall asleep, the camera moves over to the door. Angelica bangs on it from the other side.] Angelica: "Hey, you dumb babies! Let me in!" [Angelica bangs on the door again. The key falls out and the door opens.] Angelica: "This is the dumbest story I ever heared! You babies don't know anything! I'll tell you what's scary, being all alone in a creepy, old attic!" [As Angelica talks and gets more scared, Ickis, Krumm, and Oblina all walk up to her.] Angelica: "In a haunted house, with all kindsa'... s-s-scary monsters!" [Angelica shudders. Krumm roars and Oblina yells.] Ickis: "Ha ha ha ha ha!" Angelica: "Aaaah!" [Thunder booms and lightning flashes, transitioning to Angelica screaming as Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, and Dil are all sleeping peacefully under a blanket.] Angelica: "Mommy! Daddy! Waaah! Waaah! Waaah!" [Angelica runs away in fear. The camera moves past Dil, Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil, who are all still sleeping peacefully, then it moves up to the window. Thunder booms and lightning flashes one last time, ending the episode.]
