  • For the most part, the Free Wastes are just that: free, policed only by localized sheriffs and on a larger scale the Waste Marshals. However, when a great trouble threatens the Wastes as a whole, an enormously tall stranger rolls into town, holding iron and meaning to do business. His hidden face and supernatural abilities have caused a flurry of speculation as to his nature all across the wastes. Some posit that he is a Daemon, bound into service by The Board; while others suggest he is a highly advanced construct, built to protect the Company's interests; and still, some whisper that he is actually the Spirit of the Waste itself, protecting its inhabitants. When asked about his mysterious identity, the figure only replies in his low, hollow voice, "I'm a Company man."
  • "The Company Man" is the twenty-first episode of King of the Hill. It was first aired on December 7, 1997. The episode was written by Jim Dauterive, and directed by Klay Hall.
