  • In the special case of a weapon that deals more than one kind of physical damage, the lower of the resistances for those physical damage types is used. (Prior to version 1.69, the higher was used.)
  • Damage Resistance is damage reduction against a specific form of damage (see Damage type), but is not overcome under any circumstances. It is always written as type x/- where x is the amount of damage of that type to ignore. The dash indicates that there is no way to bypass the reduction.
  • Damage Resistance (DR) is a derived statistic in the SPECIAL character system. Any damage taken is reduced by a percentage based either completely or in part in this number, depending on the game. Damage Resistance can be increased by wearing armor, or by taking certain chems or perks, depending on the game.
  • Damage resistance is how much resistance shields, armour, and structure have against the 4 damage types. Shields usually have high explosive resistance (around 60%), little to none EM resistance, (usually 0%) and 25-40% for kinetic and thermal. Armours have low explosive resistance (0%), high EM resistance (usually 60%) and 25-40% for thermal and kinetic. Structure has 0% resistances all across the board, and so is useless for tanking. Damage resistances can be increased by skills, ship bonii, armour hardeners, shield hardeners, and damage controls.
  • Increases armor by X% and all resistances by X%. Wizard Skills Storm Skills — Charged Bolt • Thunderstruck • Empowered Magic • Lightning Speed • Storm Armor • Frost Nova • Deep Freeze • Power Armor • Static Charge • Electrocute • Ray of Frost • Lethal Energy • Improved Charged Bolt • Static Residue • Blizzard • Storm Power • Epic Storms • Shattering Ice • Tornado Arcane Skills — Magic Missile • Arcane Power • Efficient Magics • Penetrating Spells • Disintegrate • Wave of Force • Arcane Armor • Arcane Weakness • Arcane Speed • Arcane Orb • Slow Time • Arcane Distortion • Mana Recovery • Improved Magic Missile • Temporal Armor • Teleport • Greater Mana • Mana Burst • Runic Might Conjuring Skills — Spectral Blade • Spell Speed • Weapon Mastery • Damage Resistance • Stone Skin • Mirror Image
