  • A former Corgi casting that made a very short run as a Hot Wheels Vehicle before being retired. The Casting features a trailer hitch and opening rear hatch. This is known as the "Ford Mustang Turbo Cobra 79". During it's time as a Corgi casting, which started in 1981,this casting was called "Ford Mustang Cobra" same as the Hot Wheels version. In 1979, the 'Turbo' variation of the Cobra Mustang was equipped with a 2.3 Litre Overhead Cam (OHC) engine and was introduced in October 1978 and the 'Turbo' variant was not offered across the border in Canada, unlike with most US-market cars where traditionally and due to the the US and Canada sharing a border, there is little variation between models sold in Canada or the US. The acceleration from 0-60 Miles per hour (100 Kilometers per hour) was 9.8 seconds when new. Hot wheels has made 3 other versions of the Third Generation Ford Mustang: * Mustang Cobra * '84 Mustang SVO * '92 Ford Mustang
