  • The only Djinn seen originates from Taranushi's Chalice, an artifact made two million years ago by Goblins that has been the source of many battles between magical and non-magical creatures alike for thousands of centuries. When the chalice is filled to the point that the water runs over the edges, an evil Djinn will be released. The only way to recapture the Djinn is to use an incantation that was lost, according to Lao Shi, more than a century ago. The chalice was once mistaken for a trophy and put up as a prize for the school talent show.
  • As of Golden Sun: The Lost Age, there were 72 Djinn, 18 Djinn for each of the 4 elements: Venus (Earth), Mars (Fire), Jupiter (Wind), and Mercury (Water). While some Djinn are easily seen within towns and caves, others are hidden on the overworld map and can only be obtained in a random encounter. The player can get Djinn either by defeating them in battle, or by receiving them from various game events. The Djinn system of gameplay was a highly discussed subject of various reviewers reviewing Golden Sun and The Lost Age.
  • The blue Djinns are somewhat weaker than their green-skinned Corpulent adversaries. Djinni can cast a basic ranged Vitality Damage spell on one target, and can also cast Squall.
  • Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I just don't care. -Nine Inch Nails, Piggy And then he says to me: "Kill me now, kill me now, kill me now" -The Killers, Under the Gun Djinn, the Stalkers, are the second Band of demons. They oppose Cherubim.
  • Variable due to the unique nature of his Devil's Fruit.
  • Djinns are the opposite arch enemy race to Majins and their original counterparts. Metatron is one of them, and they are the most powerful race of natural born magic beings in the universe. All Djinns from birth can go to the First Power, but when they reach adulthood they have full complete mastery over The Third Power. They are known for their pointed ears and their otherwise humanoid features, but all of them are tall and lean.
  • Djinn is a Sentinel introduced in Update 10.0, craftable only using Clan Research. This sentinel comes pre-installed with its own weapon, Stinger. This sentinel has a polarity. At the time of release, the only documented Sentinel mod with a polarity was Spare Parts, until the addition of Animal Instinct.

  • The Djinn is the entity or entities that visited Najara and seemed to have a psychic bond with her. It (or they) may have been a figment of her imagination, as she showed signs of madness. In Arabian mythology and Islamic mythology, Djinn are supernatural beings. They are said to be made from fire (in the same way humans were made from clay). They are often confused with angels, but are distinguished by their free will, which angels do not possess.
  • The Djinn (ジン, "Jin") are a a clan of warriors who were former guardians who also shared the Soul Society with the Shinigami as their home one thousand years ago. They like the Shinigami are balancers, however spirits who have been saved by Djinn retained their memories of the human world and instantly trained to be warriors or healers of the clan. They defected from the Soul Society from the world and return in Bleach: The Dangai Revolution Arc , lead by Gunshin's son, Raijin.
  • This enabled them to take many differing quasiphysical forms, but prevented them from having complete freedom of action. In fact, the wills (and appearances) of many Genii were subject to the master of their focus. A special Kind of Djinn from Haradron Myth was the Nush or Bottle-Demon.The Old Ones of Southernesse revered Air-, Rock-, Storm- and Tree-Geniuses.
  • Djinn (also known as Jinn in the SNES/PS version) is an enemy in Chrono Trigger that appears in the Ocean Palace in Antiquity. Djinn appear as gaseous humanoid formations.
  • The Djinn are supernatural creatures encountered by Nathan Drake within Iram of the Pillars in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. They are demons born of smokeless fire that appear near the end of the game in Nate’s hallucinations.
  • Djinn (ジン, Jin) are lifeforms created from the Rukh that retained the memories and personalities of certain people from the different races of Alma Torran.
  • The djinn, also pronounced genie, is the creature that lies within the deepest layer of the hall of dread. That djinn is responsible for turning Grandma into a chicken. Sometimes they are known as Jinn.
  • Djinn was responsible for the eventual insanity of Armand St. John, allowing him to believe he had created a machine allowing him to pull parallel versions of himself from an alternate universe. By the time that the USS Enterprise crew revealed this deception for what it was, Djinn destroyed the colony on Leora IV, claiming that they were close to a discovery that would allow humanity to evolve into a type of being with powers rivaling that of Djinn. Spock would later theorize that Djinn's hatred of humanity was simply the result of a realization that humanity would eventually surpass his race. His race, in question, may have begun the antiquated Earth legends of "Genie"s and their supposed magic powers. (TOS comic: "All of Me")
  • This Djinn was capable of creating hard winds and casting lighting bolts from his hands. The Scooby Gang, including Rupert Giles, Alexander Harris, Willow Rosenberg, Cordelia Chase and Oz, confronted him. The Djinn promised to spare the life of the first to tell him where the Slayer was. When Buffy Summers arrived she stabbed him with a weather vane, causing him to disappear, possibly killing him.
  • Originating from Djinnestan, the jinn are powerful beings that can fight angels, fallen angels, and devils on equal terms. They were once worship as Demon Gods by human, but have long since disappeared from the world before even the Great War. Unlike devils and fallen angels, the djinn can’t reproduce amount themselves as their race is made entirely of females. The only way to create more jinn is to reproduce is to mate with other races. Their children will always be a djinn.
  • The Magicians of Araby can also somehow channel the immense power of the Djinn through their own bodies and lay a terrible curse upon their foes.[2a]
  • Djinn is the name given to an elemental genie of Air. In the short story, 'The Last Wish', the first Witcher short story collection by Andrzej Sapkowski, Dandelion released a Djinn which wreaked havoc in Rinde. It is in the same story that we learn of Geoffrey Monck, a mage, who had captured numerous djinns and harnessed their powers for his own gain. Much the same as in fairy tails, Djinns are powerful creatures that are capable of great feats. Once captured, they are then bound to the captor and have to fulfill three wishes. Following their completion, they are free once more.
  • The Djinn(ジンJin) are the race native to Volca. They are aligned with Chaos.
  • Djinn are water spirits especially revered by desert peoples. Made of swirling mists, they normally have a human size and shape but have been known to play tricks on travelers by hiding inside bottles or lamps. Their ethereal nature allows them to access mana freely, though many Djinn don't bother with the practice required for useful spell. Even when they have abilities their masters lack, they'll often demand answers to riddles before performing commands. Many conjurers have searched for ways around this quirk, though the wiser ones will spend their time acquiring a sense of humor.
  • Djinn, also spelled Jinn and sometimes even called Genies (Jinni), are a rare race of supernatural cave dwelling hermits that have the power to produce powerful hallucinations inside the minds of humans. They have been encountered by a few hunters including Sam and Dean Winchester.
  • Djinn are spirits that serve the forces of Evil and therefore their masters are the Dark Lords. They are very closely related to Genies. In the early history of the Godtime a number of Genies were subverted by the darker forces, and these subverted Genies became the Djinns. Disaster will strike if an adventurer believes that he has encountered a Genie but in fact has encountered a Djinn, for the two are almost indistinguishable. Even with a Genie one should beware of the gift of wishes for a Genie may easily twist the words of the wish to have a very different meaning or outcome than would have been desired. If the Genie felt that Good was dominant at that moment it could mean a disastrous result for the wish maker. In the case of a Djinn the words will be twisted if there is any possibili
  • Djinn are powerful magical beings that roam the land. There are five types of Djinn: Djinn, Djann, Shaitan, Ifreet, and Marid, are magical creatures of high intelligence found primarily around the lands of Shapeir. They are all shape-changers, but most frequently take man-like forms. They are occasionally found trapped in items such as bottles and rings. Releasing a Djinni from such an item can be very dangerous.
  • "Djinn" (魔(ま)人(じん) Majin) is an archetype of Fiend Xyz Monsters used by Yuma Tsukumo in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL. It is composed of two-horned, musician-like monsters which mostly focus on anti-Xyz tactics while also supporting one another via their own effects. Their team symbol is a musical eighth note featuring a fiendish-looking face. All members of this archetype are Rank 3 monsters, except for the Rank 4 "Maestroke the Symphony Djinn".
  • They are often found residing, or trapped inside magic bottles or lamps. Some of them are benevolent, who benefit those who freed them, but some malevolent, who avenge those who free them. But generally they serve the person who holds their lamp. Curiously enough, the singular form of the word is djinni and the plural is djinn. Sometimes also spelled jinn or jinni, this is another more accurate name for genies. Djinn are spirits that sometimes taken on the form of men. The djinn are said to be the children of fire who make their homes on the mountain Kaf. Some, however, say the djinn are demons. There are both good and evil djinn, and they can change their form or become invisible at will. One of the kings of the djinn is even claimed to have built the pyramids of Egypt.
- Andrzej Sapkowski, "Der letzte Wunsch (Kurzgeschichte)
  • The Djinns are a race of Magical Creatures. The normal djinns sleep in Small Oil Lamps and the leaders sleep in Gemmed Lamps. They have various unusual magical powers and are dangerous to cross. Also they will not eagerly speak with humans. For ages, the djinns have been engaged in a civil war between the Efreet and the Marid. They are so evenly matched, however, that neither side has been able to overcome the other. More of the history of the Djinns can be learned from the libraries in the djinn fortresses. The name "Djinn" comes from the Arabic word for Genie. See also Djinn NPCs.
  • Most djinn are bound to the locations and places they protect, most commonly rivers, lakes, and stretches of desert. When humans first came to Elona, truly powerful wizards attempted to bind djinn to estates, caves, vaults, or other places where wealth was hidden. Djinn guardians who outlive their masters may forget their original commands, or they may become powerful enough to find their own motives.
  • Djinn was sold on the black market and bought by the previous puppet master. Somehow containig magical powers. The Caira Merchant, named “Agrabah”, is the son of Afzel. He taught Andre Toulon the secrets of giving life to inanimate objects, gave his friend, the puppet, which started out lifeless, but soon gained the soul of the magician, Caira Merchant and Agrabah are now as Djinn the Hobgoblin. Djinn the Homunculus is often credited as a goblin it is more likely a demon of Arabic folklore. His only weapons is a sword and a dagger. It was unknown what his actual name was either being Egyptian Goblin Puppet or Djinn but it was finally confirmed by Full Moon (replica). His name is Homunculus. The weapons he has is A sword, a dagger and a harquebus shotgun. He can grant 3 wishes from his mast
  • Djinn are much more powerful than a normal human. Once they were worshiped as gods or demigods, a role some wistfully remember to this day. Most Djinn are very selective about which humans know their true name, for they can be bound to service through an object made by a human. Only a trusted person, an enemy, or one who may die shortly, would know of the true name of a Djinn. Although djinni are sometimes called by the name of demon, they are of an entirely different species with the same basic concept of free will but no defined body.

  • In Arabic mythology and Islamic folklore, the Djinn (spelled جني in Arabic; more commonly known in English as the Genie; also spelled jinni, jinn) were sentient spirit-beings (sometimes called demons) composed of “smokeless fire” (a loose translation of the actual word, which is “subtle fire”, a fire that burns without smoke). They also have no mass and can access places too small for humans. They have an organized society and live in settlements like humans do (most often in the desert). They live, die, have religions, like humans. Djinni reside in many locations, including all over or in the Earth, or in the mountains of Qaf (a chain of mountains made from emerald which surround the Earth). Djinn are invisible to humans. Djinn can interbreed with humans, but all offspring will be djinn.

The type of Genies known of in the Land of the Green Isles legends are genies that serve their master for life, and whose personalities mirror that of their masters. A genie is a great temptation for the aspiring soul. A genie does not simply turn a one-time favor; however great, and then be done with it. No, a genie, like a faithful dog, belongs to its owner for life - or, that is, for however long the fortunate "master" might keep hold of the creatures lamp. According to the stated "rules", each genie is immortal and each is permanently attached to a given lamp in which they might or might not be trapped for long centuries depending on the whims of their owner or fate. Once the lamp comes into the possession of a man or woman that person becomes the genie`s master and must be obeyed, Genies are very valuable creatures and can do a variety of tricks including transporting a man anywhere on earth, taking any shape the master might wish, and, of course, the ever-popular gathering of great treasures and wealth. A genie does have some limitations, however: it cannot cure ills, change the weather or bring back the dead. And a genie always has a weakness. These weaknesses are unique to each individual genie. A genie is also bound to its master in other ways. It is said that a genie is like a mirror; it only reflects its master`s will. If a master is evil minded and cruel, the genie will be also. If a master is generous and kind, so will be the genie. Genies of all types can be dangerous many can kill others both through indirect trickery and directly (there is no rule against killing others). It is known that Mali Mellin was ordered to slaughter his master's enemies on the fields without provocation, and even Shamir Shamazel could be ordered to kill his enemies with a razzle dazzle spell (but in general he was ordered to be more discreet in stopping enemies).
  • The blue Djinns are somewhat weaker than their green-skinned Corpulent adversaries. Djinni can cast a basic ranged Vitality Damage spell on one target, and can also cast Squall.

Djinn are relentless when defending the items, places, and causes they protect, but they may also bestow their favor on people who aid them in those tasks. Vabbi legends hint at djinn granting wishes and bestowing powers. In more recent accounts, adventurers have shared stories of djinn who offered them magical knowledge and powerful magical items... including some salvaged from mighty heroes who dared to disturb the djinn.

They are known for their pointed ears and their otherwise humanoid features, but all of them are tall and lean.
Djann take the shape of animals, live in the mountainous areas to avoid outsiders, and are seldom seen. Djinn are more powerful, commonly associated with air, and live in the clouds. Tales are told of wishes being granted to whomever releases a Djinni from an item. Tales are also told of the Djinni destroying the one who released him. Shaitan prefer to live around streams, waterways, and running water. As this is an extremely arid region, Shaitan are extremely rare. Ifreet are fiery creatures that prefer the remote dunes of the desert. Marid are the most powerful of all the Djinn. The master of the Marid is Iblis.

In Arabic mythology they occasionally engaged in destructive behavior, but were not considered wholly evil, nor wholly good. In Islamic folklore, they were thought to have been the first sentient (possessing free will) race created by Allah, created long before humans were created. They are generally viewed as evil, with some groups being considered more evil than others (e.g. the Shaitan). It was also believed the zauba’ah (a dust devil) was caused by the movement of a djinni. Djinn were thought to be vulnerable to metal (not any specific metal per se, just metallic objects in general), though some stories from Arabic folklore indicate Djinni (specifically the Ifrit) reside in cities made entirely of brass. Djinn appear in some stories in The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, a compilation of stories from the Middle East compiled in the 9th century CE. The concept of a genie confined to an oil lamp and granting wishes comes from one story in this work (specifically the story of Aladdin). This is the only concept of the djinn familiar in the West and has come to appear in many movies and television programs (e.g. I Dream of Genie, The Twilight Zone, The X-Files, Charmed, Gilligan’s Island, etc). There are multiple types of Djinni: Primary groups: * Marid- Djinni affiliated with seas or oceans (grouped with Water element in occult texts) * Ifrit (also spelled Efreet)- Djinni affiliated with fiery areas or residing on dimensional planes of elemental fire (grouped with Fire element in occult texts) * Shaitan- Djinni who are affiliated with Iblis, a renegade Djinni (not an angel) (Iblis can be considered the Islamic Devil) (grouped with Air element in occult texts) * Jann- a weaker, more primitive group of Djinni (grouped with Earth element in occult texts) Lesser groups: * Ghoul and Qutrub- Djinni who can change shape, assume the form of animals, which devours humans, both living and dead (sometimes considered a subgroup of Shaitan) * Si’lat (or Si’la)- Djinni who reside in woodlands and capture travelers, forcing them to dance. * Dalham- Djinni residing on islands which eats shipwrecked people

In the case of a Djinn the words will be twisted if there is any possibility that they can be and the result will be most unfortunate.

Due to their Japanese names, a number of older cards, such as the "Djinn of Rituals" series ("Ritual Djinns") and "Dark Balter the Terrible" ("Djinn Dark Balter"), also fall into this archetype. However, because their TCG and OCG support only works on Xyz Monsters, the only other cards which receive support from them are "Queen Dragun Djinn", "Number 65: Djinn Buster" and "CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral". "Musical Djinn" monsters are the only monsters whose Korean names include Hangul as base text and Hanja as ruby text, to avoid any confusion caused by the Hangul text.

They are often confused with angels, but are distinguished by their free will, which angels do not possess.

(TOS comic: "All of Me")
  • Djinn are much more powerful than a normal human. All djinn consist of a substance called essence, a flowing shapeless matter, described as a smokey liquid. It is what's responsible for their personality, power, and abilities. While on earth, they have to create a physical body for themselves, which may be of any form they please. Maintaining this form pains them, and their essences weaken if summoned for a prolonged period. Their essences are also extremely vulnerable to silver and iron. These metals are often used to subdue spirits. They are also vulnerable against rowan powder, rosemary, garlic, and a few other substances. Although djinni are sometimes called by the name of demon, they are of an entirely different species with the same basic concept of free will but no defined body.

- Andrzej Sapkowski, "Der letzte Wunsch (Kurzgeschichte)
