The BND appears to mostly remain as an institutional shell for ARGUS, which conduct most of the operations. ARGUS' main competitor is Aegis Cognito, followed by Infolio and Esprit. ARGUS is headquartered in Zentrum fur Auskunftverwaltung, Baumholder, Badisch-Pfalz (AGS). The United Nations and the Allied German States are prominent clients of Argus.

- Argus was a Nasgulian who rebelled against the Salla. Like all Nasgul, he obeyed and worshiped the Salla, but he eventually decided that the Salla was insane and that he was "a madman who would destroy us all in the name of his holy vision." He attempted to dissuade his people from following the Salla, but they did not listen. The Salla eventually discovered Argus's activities in 2287, and attempted to have Argus arrested and killed. Argus escaped in a Nasgul shuttle, but he was pursued by Kroitz of the Nasgul Space Command. Argus sought sanctuary in Federation space, where he was rescued by the USS Enterprise-A moments before Kroitz destroyed his ship. Kroitz destroyed his own vessel against the shields of the Enterprise, but that was not enough to save Argus; shortly thereafter, the Salla himself arrived and pronounced Argus dead. Argus's natural instinct of obedience to the Salla was so strong that he died on the spot of no obvious physical cause. (TOS comics: "The Return!", "The Sentence")

- The ARGUS is bomb detection equipment used by the UNSC. It can be deployed through handheld equipment, larger and more extensive machines, or unmanned ARGUS Drones. They are micro laser spectrometers designed to 'sniff out' chemicals used in explosives in the air and to alert UNSC personnel of these dangerous explosives if found. It was mainly used against the Insurrectionist bombers, who used simple countermeasures to easily fool the devices. They mixed the explosive compounds into non-reactive substances, such as a bar of soap or the rubber of a tire. Although the UNSC was able to add these mixtures into its database after they were used, it was rare to ever catch something dangerous like this beforehand. The larger ARGUS detectors were deployed at major transportation hubs to limit the movement of bombs, and smaller tactical versions were employed by Marines during raids.

- Argus is the fel-infused world of the eredar, originally including the draenei. It is — or was — an arcane utopia where mages of the arcane divined the arcane secrets of the ordered universe. Its inhabitants were both vastly intelligent and highly gifted in magic. It had a society where art, science, magic and technology were all as one. Argus was ruled by a triumvirate of the greatest and most powerful eredar mages: Kil'jaeden, Archimonde, and Velen. They ruled from Mac'Aree — the most sacred of the cities on Argus according to Jessera of Mac'Aree. Eventually, Argus attracted the attention of Sargeras. The Destroyer offered the eredar a deal: in exchange for their loyalty, he would give them power undreamed of by all races. Kil'jaeden and Archimonde were quick to accept the offer, but Velen had a vision of the future: the eredar would be transformed into demons, under the rule of Sargeras. His advice to Kil'jaeden and Archimonde went unheeded, and he desperately sought a solution to this dilemma. Eventually, Velen was contacted by the naaru, and he fled with his followers, renaming his people the draenei, or Exiled Ones. Kil'jaeden, Archimonde, and the rest of their race became the feared, insidious sorcerers and tacticians of the Burning Legion.

In the Yeltsin's Star System, Admiral Caparelli and Admiral Givens set a trap for the Havenites, which remained undiscovered because the People's Navy could not deploy Argus there due to asteroid mining. PNS Alexander was one of the ships assigned to retrieve Operation Argus data. (HH3) A much more sophisticated net of Argus platforms was deployed by Shannon Foraker for the restored Republican Navy in the late 1910s PD. The data it collected was of great importance for Operation Thunderbolt. (HH10)

- Argus is the father of Steven, Daegon and Rain in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Argus is one of the Gods and is protector of the planet Edenia, as well as its great, divine Protector, assigned to defend it from threats of outside forces. He is the husband of a powerful mortal sorceress named Delia. He is also the narrator of the character's endings. Though he is married to Edenia's most powerful sorceress, he is immortal, making both his sons Steven and Daegon demigods. Argus is the most powerful of the Gods. Due to visions of a future apocalypse caused by the growing number of fighters spawned from the Mortal Kombat tournament, as seen by his wife Delia, he was assigned by the Elder Gods to come up with a solution to prevent this from happening. Argus planned to destroy the combatants to prevent Armageddon, but Delia protested to this, pointing out that "some were heroes, undeserving of death". He came up with a solution to prevent Armageddon: a contest between his sons, Steven and Daegon. They would race each other to the top of his pyramid and defeat the fire-spark of his wife's creation, Blaze, with the mystical weapons and suits of armour that he and Delia had given them to find. With Blaze's defeat, depending on which one of the brothers defeated him, not only would they gain full godhood and replace Argus as Protector of Edenia, but the excess energies from Blaze would be absorbed by their armour and either kill or nullify the special powers of the other combatants, preventing their fighting from tearing the planets apart. Argus created several obelisks for his sons to train on their journeys, where he and Delia had left their images in. Argus and Delia were supposedly killed by Daegon shortly after their son's premature revival. In Rain's ending, it is revealed that Argus is also Rain's father, although he was born from another mother, making him the half-brother of Steven and Daegon. In a huge ironic twist of fate, the ending that would've achieved the deaths of all the other combatants, and thus the intended stoppage of Armageddon, was that of not any of his three sons, nor any prominent character from the Mortal Kombat series past, but the emperor himself, Shao Kahn. In Rain's Mortal Kombat 9 ending, after Rain defeats Shao Kahn, the thunder god Raiden takes him to Edenia to learn about Rain's origins. He shows him a statue of the Edenian god Argus, who was Rain's birth father. Rain understood his lost heritage, that he was Argus' direct descendant. But with his divinity confirmed, his path was clear: Rain would amass and lead a legion of followers, including those of Shao Kahn's militia, to conquer not only Outworld, but all the planets, including Raiden's Earth as his last target.

He allegedly killed the boy, giving him no quarter, although Argus says it was an accident and his command had cleared him of the allegations. Wilfred did not believe this, although he may have been blinded by jealousy of his brother. The Avatar first met Argus at the Inn of the Sleeping Bull, helping his mother run the place after his father's mysterious disappearance. To do that, he'd even given up being the captain of the Wolf Command. Argus gave the Avatar substantial information about the Sleeping Bull and its inhabitants, while offering the services of the inn. When Argus appeared in town, the Flash wasn't happy at all, especially when the news heralded him as "Flash's new partner." Of course, Nick didn't like the Flash either, calling him a "cocky, impulsive, hot dog." The two of them did team up when they both were interested in a mysterious box left behind by the Combine after they left town. It turned out to be a large, morphing robot. Nick, using his thermal vision, saw its energy source, and was able to depower the robot. Emil Acquava, a Keystone mob boss, was also interested in the box, having heard from a former Combine agent that it held evidence to incriminate him of killing his successor, Boss Loman. Of course, that ended up not being the box's contents, but Flash transported Acquava to the police station in the midst of the mobster's ranting and raving about killing Loman. After this adventure, Argus and Flash at least tolerated each other. When serpent cults started disappearing from Keystone City, Argus realized that Linda Park would be in danger, being the only reporter covering them, and came to her rescue when Kobra's agents attacked her at the station. Realizing that Kobra would also want her notes, they went back to Linda and Wally's house, where Argus suffered a concussion. He recovered soon, however, and provided Wally and Linda with a little background information on Kobra.

- ARGUS Private Military Corporation is a private military company that provides multiple services to clients, with a high degree of focus on defensive and asset/property protection services for those employers who can afford to hire them. ARGUS is very wealthy, with access to advanced weaponry and equipment - which includes gas masks, multiple types of wall-mounted mines, a set of advanced modern firearms, and a full range of other equipment to aid in their protection objectives. The typical ARGUS soldier is a law enforcement or military veteran who excelled in that line of work, making the company's soldiers worthy of the high costs the company charges to clients. Contrary to the popular conception of mercenaries by the average member of the public, Argus PMC's soldiers are not hitmen, thugs, or guns-for-hire. On the contrary, they have every appearance of highly-trained, highly-professional private soldiers. In the appearances made by ARGUS in Splinter Cell, the company's soldiers are employed exclusively in defensive work, protecting the valuable assets and property of clients, primarily from the operatives of ShadowNet. To best defend their clients' assets and interests, ARGUS mercenaries go heavily armed when on duty, and will not hesitate to use lethal force against intruders on a property they are guarding. - Ostatecznie Argus przyciągnął uwagę Sargerasa, który w zamieszkujących go eredarach ujrzał idealne sługi.

- «Argus» (アーガス, Āgasu?) was the corporation that produced the world's first VRMMO game, Sword Art Online, and the «NerveGear». Kayaba Akihiko was an employee of this company, having become the manager of the 3rd developing branch when he was in his second year at Teito University.
Velen követői azóta magukat draenei, azaz a száműzöttek néven nevezik.
