Prior to his assignment aboard the Constellation, Soo had studied several languages, including English, French and Mandarin, and at least had the ability to count to ten in each. In late 2266, Soo was assigned to work in the Constellation's Sensor Control Center during the starship's two-week survey of the Beta Proxima neutron star. Following the Constellation's diversion to Alpha Proxima II, Soo remained on duty in the sensor room alongside Ensign Sontor. They were both later contacted by Chief Science Officer Guillermo Masada and asked to pull up all data that they had about General Order 16 and the Malkus Artifacts. (TOS - The Brave and the Bold, Book One novella: The First Artifact) Soo presumably perished with the rest of the Constellation crew in 2267 during the encounter with an ancient "planet killer" depicted in TOS episode: "The Doomsday Machine".
