He received higher election results in the subsequent Presidential elections comin in third in 2479. Married Marie Toulouse on 5 May 2468 and had a son a year later. Became a Senator in the election of 2470. He ran for President six times from 2466 to 2484 (not running in 2481). He then stepped down as the party's nominee for president and instead became the nominee for Minister of Internal Affairs. In 2488, his good friend George Wyndhaven decided to step down as Prime Minister asking the party to nominate James as his successor, which it did, making James the ninth Prime Minister of Lourenne. He resigned this position in early 2492 due to administrative and political differences with President Benítez. The position was once again occupied in July 2493. In the mid-2490s, the OGP was heated with debate over the party's political agenda. The 'Old Guards', of which James was a member, was ousted by the 'New Front' headed by Juan Coastabello in the 2496 election. He condemned the nationalist and fiscal policies of the 'New Front' for being narrowminded and destructive. He left the party after the election along with many others.
