Unlike the right eye's technique, this dōjutsu doesn't cause Ryun's eye to bleed. Upon casting the dōjutsu, the targets' shadows are projected into Limbo and are immediately rendered motionless. Ryun explains that this is because they lack the Rinnegan, which actually has the ability to manipulate the inhabitants of Limbo. Using the chakra or the unique senjutsu of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, Ryun can then inflict damage on these shadows, even when he is unable to damage the physical bodies of his targets. The damage inflicted on the shadows are then translated onto their host. There are two notable drawbacks to this. The first is that, like other Limbo techniques, the shadows have a time limit and, upon expiring, cannot be cast again for several minutes. The second is that it is dangerous to use this technique on another Rinnegan user, as they can seize control of their shadow and use it against the caster.
