  • Bugbear is a type of Hobgoblin that is comparable to Boogeyman and Bugaboo in folklore. Bugbear was used to frighten children into obeying their parents. Its name is derived from the Celtic word bug which means "evil spirit" or "goblin". In lore the Bugbear was depicted as a creepy bear that lurked in the woods to scare children.
  • Bugbear is a enemy within Breath of Fire II.
  • Bugbear is an enemy fought at Mt. Lux.
  • A bugbear is a type of goblin-like creature. In Dungeons & Dragons, a bugbear is a large humanoid, kin to goblins, known for its brutality and stealthy approach.
  • A bugbear is a massive humanoid distantly related to, but larger and stronger than, goblins and hobgoblins. Bugbears resemble hairy, feral goblins standing seven feet (2.1m) tall. They take their name from their noses and claws, which are similar to those of bears. Their claws are not long and sharp enough to be used as weapons, so bugbears often armor and arm themselves with a variety of purloined gear. Most often, this gear is second-rate and in poor repair. Bugbears tend to be chaotic evil in alignment, favoring the rogue class.
  • Bugbear is the wrestler who once went by the name of Sladen Dead. It was in late 2009 (early October) when Bugbear made his first appearance on the WWC.
  • Bugbears are a subspecies of Goblins found in the Dungeons of Fate.
  • Bugbear is the name for a type of giant hairy Goblin. In the service of Kuperan they wear plate mail and carry battle-axes as a choice of weapon.
  • As a player character race, bugbears receive the following racial traits. Oversized Bugbears can wield weapons of the same size, or of one size larger as though they were the same size. Predatory Eye Bugbears gain the predatory eye racial power. Predatory eye is an encounter power that, as a minor action, add +1d6 bonus damage per tier to the next attack against a target granting combat advantage.
  • Bugbears, the biggest and strongest of the goblinoids, are more aggressinve than their small cousins. The live to hunt creatures weaker than themselves.
  • In a modern context, the term bugbear serves as a metaphor for something which is annoying or irritating. It may also mean "pet peeve". Bugbear is also another term for scarecrow.
  • Bugbears are a thursine race from the northern reaches of northwestern Odenna and the mountainous regions of central and western Odenna.
  • Bugbear is a computer virus that spread in early October 2002, infecting thousands of home and business computers. The virus exploits a weakness in an older version of Microsoft's Outlook and Outlook Express programs that enables the virus to propagate itself through the e-mail addresses found on the computer's hard drive.
  • Bugbears are a type of mutated bear, combining insectiod features on an ursine body. The Bugbear's body is more or less identical to that of an ordinary bear, however it has chitine plates covering its lower legs, bug eyes and most prominently, a pair of insect wings on its back which keep it aloft despite its heavy body.

  • The bugbear, h, is a monster in NetHack. They are usually encountered in throne rooms and are not usually a significant threat.
  • Bugbears are monstrous nocturnal hunters whose prey is anything that can experience the full height of fear and terror.
  • Bugbears are a bear-shaped form of hobgoblin. They appear in dark colors, with glowing eyes and long claws. They seem to have an affinity for creepy-crawlies, and for scaring people. The B is for Bugbear entry states: "Bugbears are a type of English hobgoblin that resemble enormous bears with glowing eyes. Not actually dangerous, bugbears track down runaway children and frighten them into returning home." Bugbear medallions vary in shape, from generic bear-looking medallions to insect-looking examples.
  • Old Common term: Beojebline Bugbears are the largest and strongest members of the goblinoid race. - Bugbears used to live in the Dapple Wood in Furyondy for a time but have not been seen for over a decade after rangers, knights, and militiamen hunted them down without mercy. - A peculiar sub-species known as blue bugbears exist in the frozen waste of the Land of Black Ice. - A sizeable number eke out an existence as bandits in Rift Canyon. - An aggressive tribe of bugbears, known as the “white eye” nation, dwell in the western mountainous areas of the Vesve but has no known loyalty to Iuz.

But was stopped by Class VII, but then needed to be saved when Gideon summoned a monster that devoured one of their own. After that, they were taken by the Intelligence Division to hand them over to the Rubician Army.
  • Bugbears prefer to ambush opponents rather than face them directly in combat. When hunting, they normally send scouts ahead of the main group that will report and bring reinforcements where needed. These scouts may be other bugbears, but more commonly, are goblins or hobgoblins indentured to their horde. Bugbear attacks are coordinated, suggesting that they are talented tacticians.

Not known for their piety, bugbears revere chaotic deities of battle and slaughter. As such, Erythnul is popular, as is Iuz, whom they occasionally serve as soldiers.

After that, they were taken by the Intelligence Division to hand them over to the Rubician Army. In Trials Of Steel II, they come back in having escaped from prison, hijacked an Airliner with innocent hostages, including nobles. Hids themselves in Eisengard Range, but seem to had trouble getting a commuincation network from their choice of location. This time they were gonna get the money by ransoming off the captures, and build their own Jaeger Corp unit. But they were stopped by Class VII along with two second-year Thors Students: Hiebel and Klein, in the end.
  • Bugbears are a subspecies of Goblins found in the Dungeons of Fate.
  • Bugbear is the name for a type of giant hairy Goblin. In the service of Kuperan they wear plate mail and carry battle-axes as a choice of weapon.
These creatures prefer to dwell in mountainous or cavernous regions and live in small tribal units. Like the goblinoid relatives, the largest bugbear controls the tribe. They have only two goals in life: to gather food and to gather treasure. Therefore, prey and intruders are considered a valuable source of both. Bugbears are extremely greedy creatures that prize anything shiny. Some bugbears have been known to negotiate with others if they believe something can be gained, but they are not skilled negotiators and generally such diplomatic meetings devolve into violence.
  • As a player character race, bugbears receive the following racial traits. Oversized Bugbears can wield weapons of the same size, or of one size larger as though they were the same size. Predatory Eye Bugbears gain the predatory eye racial power. Not actually dangerous, bugbears track down runaway children and frighten them into returning home." The artist also states " Sheana and I have expanded on the bugbear mythos a bit for my Skin Deep project since Alec Hyde is a bugbear, adding things like naturally attracting arthropods, the ability to find certain people no matter where they are, and Just Being Damn Creepy In General." Bugbear medallions vary in shape, from generic bear-looking medallions to insect-looking examples. As can be seen in these pictures of Myra and Alec bugbears are considerably larger in Full Form compared to human form and midform. Anecdotal evidence suggests that Bugbears are seldom slim people when using their medallions to appear human. Kory recently confirmed that bug bears (in human form) "are usually husky dudes with dark hair and light skin"
