Synopsis | - From their headquarters Hydra plots to kill Captain America and the Femme Force, opening the door for their takeover of the country. Meanwhile aboard the helicarrier, Nick Fury summons the Femme Force. Sharon argues with Val, believing that Fury's girlfriend is trying to undermine her authority as leader of the Femme Force, but Fury breaks up the argument. when Cap arrives, Fury explains their mission: invade the Hydra stronghold on the Las Vegas strip. On the flight to Las Vegas Val flirts with Cap, making Sharon jealous. Cap is suspicious of Agent 22, and his suspicions are confirmed when she helps Hydra agents board the plane in an assault. While Cap and Femme Force battle Hydra on the plane, Sam Wilson receives a call from Fury who tells him that Cap needs his help. Despite his misgivings, Falcon agree to meet with Fury. Meanwhile on the plane as the pilot is knocked out a Hydra agent attempts to shoot Cap but Sharon leaps in the way, taking the blast. Believing Sharon dead, Cap vows to take vengeance against Hydra.

* Letter writer 'Fred Janssen' is the first to propose that Captain America's Shield is an Adamantium and Vibranium mix. Although some elements of Janssen's letter do not become canon, reader's do later learn that Cap's Shield is a mix of Myron MacLain's experimental metal and vibranium alloys.
