  • Conan, feeling wanderlust, leaves his Cimmerian tribe to find adventure. He is waylaid by rival Cimmerians and rescued by a band of raiding Aesir who take Conan into their ranks. The Aesir head into Vanaheim and on a scouting mission, Conan and Honir are ambushed by Vanir. Conan escapes the ambush and in an attempt to rescue Honir kidnaps the Vanir cheiftan's daughter. Oza. Oza dies during the rescue attempt, although Conan manages to free Honir and a Monk of Mitra who was also imprisoned. The monk leads them to a cave and calls upon the Snow that Slays -- a blizzard of such intensity it tears skin from bones. The companions stay safe in the cave, then Conan and Honir head back to the Aesir as the monk Ixastophanis promises Conan will meet him again.
