* Bullock mentions a previous Azrael killing an undercover cop. This is a reference to Death's Dark Knight. Jenny Lane also talks about her affair with Michael and one of her children believing they saw him in a Batsuit, both of which are references to the same storyline.
Azrael tracks down a serial killer, while at the same time struggling with personal issues and what it means to be the "good guy." Meanwhile, a series of scenes from six months into the future show Michael Lane's macabre but strange fate.
