After dealing damage five times, or hitting a wall, the Demon Scythe projectile will be destroyed. Also, the Demon Scythe is a good weapon to use against large groups or worm enemies due to the large amount of affected enemies. It is also good against the Eater of Worlds and Wall of Flesh because it can get through The Hungry and break through many segments. The Demon Scythe continues to be a good weapon well into Hardmode (where it will likely be replaced by a similar weapon, the Razorblade Typhoon).
