During the massacre, she is mortally wounded by either Itachi or Obito at the Uchiha compound, but manages to stay alive long enough until Kimi's arrival from her mission, after which she told her to run away as far from the village as possible, survive and become a strong kunoichi, so that she may one day "do what must be done". With her dying breath, she told Kimi she'll always be with her.
