| abstract | - False Vacuum Squadron (or FV Sqn) was a Starfleet starfighter squadron formed in 2415. It was based out of Unity Three Starbase. It was formed in response to complaints lodged onboard the USS Antechrist. Its primary unit was the Caspian-class runabout USS Neman. (Star Trek: False Vacuum: "Wagon Train to the Stars") All pilots in FV Sqn were trained in lightsaber combat. Catherine Mouranger joined the unit in the middle of the Squadron's first mission, while also claiming that the Squadron should not try to become a military police squadron. (Star Trek: False Vacuum: "Arthur Porter and the Corpse of Azkapanama") FV Sqn was assigned to the 182nd Tactical Fighter Wing, based at Unity Three Starbase. (Star Trek: False Vacuum: "Murder Grove") It was the first squadron designated as a Prime Team; as such, FV Sqn was entitled to its own battle cry when not on a covert mission, which was 1L Life is Hell, designed to confuse enemy pilots when communications were intercepted. It served with distinction during the Second Battle of Tovolo against the Wyldefire Compact's Vegas Station in the Tovolo system, with all pilots earning ace status in this battle. However, FV Sqn stopped using 1L Life is Hell as a battle cry after Dunames left; the latter used it as a battle cry when she became a law professor at Cogley Law School and the commanding officer of Quantum Transport Squadron.
