Synopsis
  • Captain America leaves the Avengers to live his own life. Hercules travels back to Olympus to find it deserted. Dane Whitman and his traitorous assistant Norris accidentally summon Magneto and Toad back to Earth from space. They send a coded message to Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, and they fall into a trap and are captured by Magneto. He wishes them to return to the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, but they refuse.

  • * Dane Whitman will become the Black Knight and will be an ally to the Avengers until he becomes a member in Avengers #71. * Captain America leaves the team this issue. He has cameos in Avengers #51 and Avengers #52. He returns to the team for their adventures in Avengers #56 and Avengers Annual #2.
