| abstract | - Don Schissler is a former NASCAR driver from Detroit, MI. He competed in three Nextel Cup Series events in his career. Schissler's debut came in 1967, when he competed at Charlotte. Starting 31st in the field of forty-four, Schissler barely competed 10% of the race before an engine failure left him a disappointing 40th. Despite another DNF later in the year at Weaverville, Schissler improved greatly, starting 17th in the field of thirty and finishing 14th. Schissler didn't return until action until 1969, when he competed in the inaugural event at Talladega. Starting 30th in the field of thirty-six, Schissler didn't even get to complete a lap before an engine failure left him last (36th).
