- When at an age that could be considered a child, Beacon joined a small military group of Matoran running a crusade against a tyrannical walled city in the name of the Great Spirit Mata Nui. Beacon, still developing, did not understand the circumstances and was forced to learn how to survive on the battlefield against dozens of trained enemies soldiers that were decimating the ragtag group of freedom fighters. One day, Beacon found himself surrounded by enemies, with death most likely coming soon. However, he is suddenly saved by his father, who he did not recognize. Crucifix was angered at the life he believed his son chose and took him to the Phalanx Sanctuary, where Crucifix forced The Master to take Beacon in. Like before, Beacon did not understand these events coming at him and accepted them quickly. Training with the Phalanx, Beacon proved exceptional, but not as impressive as his father, as he is constantly reminded. One fateful night however, Beacon found himself abducted by a Makuta who was looking to use Matoran in his experiments.

Beacons are not something added to the game just to give bored players bonus points. They are the central objective. The team which controls the Beacons wins the game! Much the same like the light-beams from Death Statues (urns). Beacons don't shine downwards though. There are 5 known variants of Beacons:
* White Beacon: crafted from 2 Glass (blocks), 4 Stone Rods, 3 Coal (as of R21 in August 2015)
* Yellow Beacon (from Recipes found in Treasure Chests or looted/pet-harvested from the Thing) : crafted from 2 Glass (blocks), 4 Stone Rods, 3 Coal and 3 Yellow Pigment (as of R21 in August 2015)
* Red Beacon (from Recipes found in Treasure Chests or looted/pet-harvested from the Thing) : crafted from 2 Glass (blocks), 4 Stone Rods, 3 Coal and 3 Red Pigment (as of R21 in August 2015)
* Blue Beacon (from Recipes found in Treasure Chests or looted/pet-harvested from the Thing) : crafted from 2 Glass (blocks), 4 Stone Rods, 3 Coal and 3 Blue Pigment (as of R21 in August 2015)
* Healing Beacon : crafted from 2 Obsidian Slabs, 2 Corruption Dust, 10 Stalactite (blocks), 2 Trog Horns and 4 Iron Rods (as of R21). The Healing Beacon is something special, as if you place it and wait for a while it will cleanse corruption (just like purification bombs) from the closest blocks: 3 blocks down, including the one the beacon is placed upon, 3 blocks up, 2 blocks sidewards from the block the beacon is placed on, and 1 block diagonal each, with additional or less blocks sometimes); which turns corrupted blocks into "normal" blocks and Corrupted Water into Mineral Water. Your avatar will also slowly be healed when touching a Healing Beacon (or standing on it), plus the corruption-debuff will decrease until it's completely gone if you just wait long enough. By placing one colored beacon on top of another, you can create otherwise missing colors. Red + Yellow = Orange, Blue + Red = Purple, and white beacons will create a pastel version, such as Red + White = Pink, and so on.
