  • The Confederate States Army Air Corps was the air wing of the Confederate Army. It was critical to the CS initial offensive in the Second Great War. While the United States had allowed its military capabilities to stagnate in the period after the Great War, the CS had quietly and illegally innovated in several fields, including in airborne military vehicles. Notable planes included the Hound Dog fighter, the Razorback medium bomber and the Mule dive-bomber.

CS ingenuity could not keep up with US military production. While the US planes could equal CS planes, it was the US ability to mass produce their planes that eventually overwhelmed the Confederate Air Corps.
