This angered him and he started, without intention, to kill the iriaz by the use of electricity. After killing the iriaz, his power scared him so much that he ran off and stayed hidden in the fields for over a week. The Jedi at the Jedi enclave on Dantooine felt this massive Force power and it worried them, as they thought a Sith Lord had arrived. Immediately, they sent Jedi Masters Dakari and Glaven Pold to find what they thought was a powerful Sith. They eventually came upon the boy and they both felt the Force within Jerek. They asked if he would come with them and he agreed to go. He was nine years old at the time.
