The game took longer than expected to be developed, so Rareware decided to move the game to the Nintendo 64 platform. The main character in the game was then changed to be the rabbit. But

Es sollte für den Super Nintendo, einer Konsole der Firma Nintendo, erscheinen, doch es wurde im Jahre 1998 als "Banjo-Kazooie" für den Nintendo 64 entwickelt. Die Hauptfigur in diesem Spiel sollte ein junge namens Edison sein, der ein Schwert trägt. Dieser Junge hat Streitereien mit dem großen Piraten Käpten Holzauge (von diesem Pirat hängt in Banjo-Kazooie in der Mad Monster Mansion ein Bild an der Wand, in Banjo-Tooie ist er sogar als Charakter zu sehen, er sitzt in Jolly's Spelunke), welcher der Boss einer Piraten-Bande hätte sein sollen. Dieser Pirat wäre gleichzeitig der letzte Endgegner in Project Dream gewesen.
