A cancerous fibroma is usually called a fibrosarcoma. One of the most common types of fibroma is a skin tag. However, they can occur in any type of connective tissue. Fibromas are not dangerous and usually require no treatment or attention whatsoever. The are occasionally removed as a cosmetic procedure, but the surgery can usually be done on an outpatient basis under local anesthetic.
