abstract
  • Paul Murphy-Spaak was born in Jorka as the eldest son of Theodore W. Murphy and Laura Spaak, both descendants of political icons. At very young age Paul was introduced into politics. At the age of 22 he was elected chairman of the Young Progressives, the youth wing of the former P&A. At that time he had earned his degree in communications, economics and political science. He joined the National Reserve as a Lieutenant and started his master in War History and Tactics. Later that year he got elected as a Member of Parliament and was offered the Ministry of Defence when Magriete Gevare stepped down. He was Minister of Defence for almost 22 years. His main concern was to transform the military from an agressor into a peaceforce. After the dissapointing election result of 3719, Paul took over as chairman and transformed the party into the current Lodamese Nationalistic Committee. He was very controversial as LNC chairman, being a convinced Nationalist. On the changing political scene he kept making statements and spreading his beliefs. In 3725 he got severly beaten up and was unable to take his political functions. Maria Murphy-Spaak took over as party chairman on May 1. Paul Murphy-Spaak fled Lodamun because he felt in danger. He fled to Wiel, Vanuku and lived there in a small suburban house. In August 3728 he got arrested by Vanukian police and he still awaits his trial. He is charged with crimes against humanity. While under arrest he got elected for the Presidium in July 3731. His daughter Anna Murphy-Spaak took his seat for the time of his absence. Paul has 3 children and 11 grandchildren. On May 1, 3735 the Free Paul Committee was launched.
