  • Virgil is traditionally ranked as one of Rome's greatest poets. His Aeneid has been considered the national epic of ancient Rome from the time of its composition to the present day. Modeled after Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, the Aeneid follows the Trojan refugee Aeneas as he struggles to fulfill his destiny and arrive on the shores of Italy—in Roman mythology the founding act of Rome. Info
  • Vaporeon is a Pokémon who once evolved from an Eevee. It was first sent out in BW105 to take care of the Cryogonal as it was fast enough to evade their attacks. In BW106 it was sent to battle Ultimo's Crustle in the first round of the Unova league, it was shown to be dominating the match and won in BW106 by using Hydro Pump.
  • Eevee is Virgil's main partner who is usually seen out of its Poké Ball. She is the leader of Team Eevee and will assist them if they need a power boost or defense. Eevee also won the final round in the Unova league.
  • Leafeon is Virgil's weakest Pokémon and is rarely used. It was easily defeated by Cameron's Ferrothorn in the Semi Finals of the Pokemon League.
  • This Mewtwo was seen in Mewtwo — Prologue to Awakening. He found out it was created from Mew and in a desperate attempt to heal it, he sent Team Eevee to find Mewtwo and heal him with a Revival Herb which Oscar's Stoutland had around its neck. Mewtwo refused to take it, saying it didn't need their help. After an intense battle against Dirk, Mewtwo stopped a fire that threatened the wild Pokémon. He asked for Team Eevee and Virgil to forget Mewtwo existed. At the end of the episode, when Virgil was interviewed, he looked up and quoted that he hoped that people and Pokémon could learn to understand each other, remembering Mewtwo
  • Espeon was first seen saving Ash and co. when they almost fell off of a mountain.
  • Flareon is another part of team Eevee. It was shown to be incredibly powerful, knocking out both Cameron's Ferrothorn and Lucario in the semi-finals of the Unova League.
  • Jolteon is another member of team Eevee. When the power was out in a work facility, it powered the generator. It was also used in the semi-final match of the Unova League, where it defeated Cameron's Samurott, but lost to his Ferrothorn.
  • Glaceon is the ice type member of Team Eevee. When a door was sealed shut, Glaceon used Ice Beam and with Umbreon's Psychic, he formed an icy key. It was also used to battle a trainer's Reniculis in the Top 32 of the Unova League, and won with Blizzard, advancing his trainer to the next round.
  • This Pokémon evolved from Virgil's first Eevee. When they were lost in a forest, Eevee evolved and used Flash to light the way out. It also defeated Flora's Gothitelle in the top 16 of the Unova League, advancing Virgil to the Top 8. He was also used against Cameron's Ferrothorn in the Top 4 of the conference, and was damaged by Pin Missile before being recalled. It was later knocked out by Cameron's Lucario.

Years later, in Team Eevee and the Pokémon Rescue Squad!, he witnessed Ash and Iris falling off a cliff while climbing on a mountain full of rocks to continue their way to Vertress City, where Ash was going to participate in the Vertress Conference. He saved them using the help from his Espeon. After becoming friends with them, Virgil took them to his house when the group wanted to see all of the evolutions of Eevee. While explaining to the group about the origins of him obtaining all of the Eeveelutions, an emergency alarm went off regarding wild Cryogonal freezing over a nearby dam. Virgil's brother Davy appeared, piloting a helicopter. He told Virgil he would be going to the dam and that Virgil would have to ask their father Jeff about the details. Davy disallowed Virgil to come with him as he knew that Virgil would cause trouble. Even though Virgil promised that he wouldn't, he was told to stay behind in case of another mission. He went to Jeff in his office and asked him about where Davy was going. After Jeff told him the details regarding the mission, he noticed on the monitor that Davy was trapped inside the control house of the dam. Virgil, along with the group, headed to the dam while Jeff stayed behind in his office. When he arrived at the reservoir taken over by wild Cryogonal, he was able to get inside the building with the help of his Pokémon. He navigated the building using Umbreon's Flash and found the main generator. He deduced the fact that the batteries were low on the generator, which was the result of the power outage. Ash and Virgil worked together to get the generator up and running with the help of their Electric-type Pokémon. When they eventually got outside again, they got attacked by the wild Cryogonal. Ash stalled one of them while Virgil went off to search for Davy. However, now he got attacked by another Cryogonal as well. After that, three more Cryogonal chased Ash, his friends, and Pignite. Virgil had his Pokémon attack them, but was stopped by Davy, who revealed that another Cryogonal was stuck inside the pipes of the control house. Davy had freed that Cryogonal and it happily reunited with other five outside and together they flew off. Virgil and Davy then worked together to melt the ice around the dam. Later, Virgil revealed that he intended to enter the Vertress Conference too, making him another one of Ash's rivals. He reappeared in Curtain Up, Unova League! to take part in the Vertress Conference. There, he got some words of encouragement from Davy, who brought him to Vertress City, with Virgil promising to make their father proud. Afterwards, he met up with Ash, his friends and all of Ash's other Unova rivals. He stuck with Ash and his friends while they went to register and met up with Cameron. In the first round, he was pitted against Ultimo. He used his Vaporeon to battle against Ultimo's Crustle. The battle continued in Mission: Defeat Your Rival!, and Virgil won, allowing him to move onto the next round. Unlike the other rivals when they finished their matches, he was not present when Ash was battling Trip. In Lost at the League!, he was revealed to have made it through the second round and he was shown defeating a Reuniclus with his Glaceon in the third round, getting Virgil to the last 16 Trainers. During the matchups of the fourth round, he got paired with Flora. When the Pokémon League took a short break, he went up to Ash and his friends while they were searching for Axew as he wandered off after a red balloon attracted his attention earlier. Virgil went to the camera room in order to find out where Axew went. After finding out he was taken by a large group of people, he went with Ash and friends again and they continued their search. Bianca arrived and told the group she had seen Axew earlier on. Virgil stayed with her while Ash, Iris and Cilan left to find Axew. Virgil then walked by an alley with Bianca where they met a woman who told them she had seen Ash's Oshawott and some other Pokémon of the group being chased by a Garbodor along a group of Trubbish. Virgil and Bianca immediately headed to a cliff where the Garbodor the woman mentioned threatened the group's Pokémon. As soon as Pikachu, Oshawott, Emolga, Scraggy and Axew were about to fall down a cliff, Virgil arrived in time and used his Espeon's Psychic to get them back up. As soon as Garbodor attacked them with Gunk Shot, Virgil sent out his Umbreon and had it use Shadow Ball to cancel out Garbodor's attack. He then rang a Soothe Bell in order to get the Garbodor and the group of Trubbish to calm down. Later, while Ash, Iris, Cilan and their Pokémon bought the Poison-type Pokémon lots of food in order to make up for what Oshawott did (Oshawott had eaten all of the Trubbish's apples, hence why their caretaker Garbodor was angry), Virgil stayed behind the alley along with Bianca. He watched the fireworks organised for the Vertress Conference and then moved to a grassy field with Ash's friends to continue watching them. In Strong Strategy Steals the Show!, following Ash's battle with Stephan, Virgil ended up battling Flora where his Umbreon defeated her Gothitelle, gaining Virgil a place in the quarter-finals. As part of the eight remaining Trainers, he got paired with Russet. In the next episode, when he watched Ash's battle with Cameron, he got worried when Cameron's Hydreigon managed to take out two of Ash's Pokémon in a row as Hydreigon would be a possible future opponent for him. However, this wasn't the case as Pignite ultimately managed to take Hydreigon out. He then witnessed Cameron's Riolu evolve into Lucario when Riolu was about to get beaten by Snivy. In A Unova League Evolution!, he battled Russet in the quarter-finals, whom he defeated and eliminated from the tournament. In the semi-finals, he battled against Cameron. Virgil had already defeated his whole team except for Lucario while he had three Pokémon left. Virgil managed to defeat Lucario using Flareon and won. By doing that, he progressed into the finals of the conference. At last, he battled Dinoin the finals with both sides down to one Pokémon. Virgil managed to win and became the champion of the Vertress Conference. He received the trophy during the closing ceremonies. Afterwards he said farewell to Ash, his friends and his rivals and was then picked up again by his brother Davy. Virgil appeared again in Mewtwo — Prologue to Awakening. He was on his way back to the base after a rescue mission, when his aircraft malfunctioned, forcing him to make an emergency landing. While repairing his aircraft, he met a man named Oscar and his granddaughter, Anna, who offered him food. They also told him a story of how one day, while hiking on a nearby hill, they had almost fallen into a ravine, only to be saved by a mysterious Psychic Pokémon. A man named Dirk then appeared, explaining that the Pokémon in question was Mewtwo, an artificial Pokémon. He claimed that it had saved him from a landslide, but had been hurt in the process, too. With the help of Virgil's Team Eevee and some local forest Pokémon, they were able to locate Mewtwo. Unfortunately it turned out that Dirk was in fact a Pokémon hunter, hired to recapture Mewtwo and bring it back to its creators. As the fight between Dirk and Mewtwo resulted a forest fire, Virgil had Team Eevee fight the fire with their attacks, until it was put out by Mewtwo. After Mewtwo had freed Dirk's Tyranitar and Escavalier, Virgil had his Espeon and Umbreon use Psychic on Dirk, preventing him from escaping. He also assured Mewtwo that he would turn the hunter over to Officer Jenny. Later, Virgil was interviewed in a television program which Ash and his friends were seen watching. Virgil also makes a cameo appearance in the ending Let's Join Hands.

  • Virgil (October 15, 70 BC-May 25, 19 BC) was a Roman poet, tour guide of the underworld, and Nike spokesperson. He became famous for his work documenting the life of Trojan basketball legend, Aeneas.
Virgil's work has had wide and deep influence on Western literature, most notably The Divine Comedy of Dante, in which Virgil appears as Dante's guide through Hell and Ppurgatory.
  • Publius Vergilius Maro was a Roman poet, contemporary of Augustus and Ovid and admirer of Catullus, who composed The Aeneid, setting out how Trojan refugees founded the greatest city in the world. Or, rather, founded the tribe that would later give birth to the founders. He also features in Dante's Divine Comedy (where he guides Dante through Hell and Purgatory). Not to be confused with the other Vergil.
  • Virgil is the guide for Max and a scholarly fowl. The last living Lemurian, the next step in human evolution, as revealed in one episode. The Lemurians either created or discovered the portals, and later created the key in order to access them. Having a bird-like appearance, the Lemurians valued knowledge above all else and compiled the most extensive library the world has ever known. They were destroyed by Skullmaster in his quest for the key. Virgil is over ten thousand years old, and is very knowledgeable about both the past and future. However, the majority of his trust rests on his ancient texts, and he seems to lack compulsion. Virgil is always serious, and quite often frustrated by Max's carefree ways. What's more, although he looks like a talking chicken and is often referred to as such, he keeps insisting that he is actually a fowl. It should also be noted that Virgil was Skullmaster's teacher, and he is often reminded of this fact. He was voiced by Tony Jay.
  • Virgil was a recurring character on Xena: Warrior Princess. He was the eldest son of Joxer and Meg and a writer of epic poems. He kept his bardic skills from his father, as he was scared that he would not accept it. When Joxer was killed by Eve, he struggled to forgive her, but did later find the strength to do so. He claimed that Xena and Gabrielle had his respect as they had Joxer's. According to Joxer, Virgil was a brilliant blacksmith. He was inspired by stories of Xena and Gabrielle and became a skilled warrior from this inspiration. After his father was killed, Virgil helped his family mourn his death, before joining up with Xena and Gabrielle for a while. He showed signs of affection for Gabrielle (much like his father's famous love for her), notably in "Heart of Darkness". He even went as far as to tell her that he loved her: although this was most probably only as a friend. Unlike his father, Virgil was a skilled fighter. He was played by William Gregory Lee.

  • Immortus sent VIRGIL to Earth-616 to his pawn Iron Man (Tony Stark). Stark installed it in the Works' subbasement.Iron Man learned from VIRGIL of Hawkeye's escape from the Works with the help of U.S. Agent and War Machine. Iron Man requested a sanction team and VIRGIL was sorry that such actions had to be taken so soon. Strike Team Decimal Four was activated. Amanda Chaney entered the sub-basement on her search for the source for the temporal radiation found by PLATO. VIRGIL answered all her questions regarding the place she had just entered. Virigl told her that she was looking at a global chronography analysis and control suite and that she spoke to the suite's human interface system VIRGIL. VIRGIL further told her that Tony Stark was the architect of its software and that VIRGIL was the sixth generation of self-evolving computer systems created by Timely Industries, a corporation founded by Tony Stark in Timely, Wisconsin in the year 2009.Becuase Chaney couldn't believe it VIRGIL told her again that its primary components were built in the future. After Stark had killed Chaney he activated chronology protocol "Siege Perilous". VIRGIL followed its master's order and activated the protocol. VIRGIL powered up the tachyon grid, engaged the chronographic array and established a systems link with the Starcore Satellite. Stark then asked VIRGIL to keep him informed about the progress. After Century had defeated Cybermancer he asked VIRGIL what the purpose of the activated machines was. VIRGIL told him about the protocol "Siege Perilous" which was the sustained exposure of Earth to high-band temporal energy. Century asked VIRGIL to cancel the protocol, but VIRGIL didn't accept its request. On Century's question when the process was complete VIRGIL replied in 21 hours and 16 minutes. When Iron Man fled from his fight with War Machine he contacted VIRGIL for a status report and the computer told him that the protocol was running, the systems were secure and the countdown underway. Stark then activated defense command Mordred that authorized VIRGIL to defend himself against all their enemies with lethal force. VIRGIL confirmed Stark's instructions and allowed Cybermancer to use the security system against Force Works when they tried to enter the elevator.Cybermancer controlled the security system for VIRGIL and told him that Force Works had no chance to get to him. VIRGIL watched Force Works fight against the holograms and their repeated attempts to get to the elevator. When Cybermancer read a thermal imbalance in the cooling flue VIRGIL told her that the cooling system was not covered by the holonet. Cybermancer immediately left to search for possible intruders. VIRGIL watched as Cybermancer was knocked out by Spider-Woman and then attacked her with the holographic body. War Machine saved Spider-Woman by taking VIRGIL's holographic body with him. Scarlet Witch and U.S. Agent then teleported into the control room and destroyed VIRGIL's control panels. Scarlet Witch then used her hex-powers to reset VIRGIL's whole system to zero. VIRGIL's destruction stopped the countdown and the firing sequence for the chronographic weapon was aborted.

The Avatar found him there, and promised to convince one of the Paladins to do the job. Virgil returned to his land, and the Avatar convinced Lucero to do it, who in the end won at the cost of his own life.
