  • Edwin McCain
rdfs:comment
  • On June 29, 2010 at the New Jersey Federal Prison, Edwin McCain was sitting inside his jail cell while listening to his cell mate Will Bates (whom McCain had argued with for days) thinking of his plan to escape from jail and out to freedom. But as Bates spotted a nine milimeter pistol that a prison guard had accidently dropped and left behind too close to the cell, he reached out, managed to picked up the gun, and shot open the lock on the cell door, alerting the nearby prison guards. After opening the cell door, McCain got up and confronted Bates. That's when Bates turned around and shot McCain to death. Immediately after the murder, Bates ran as prison guards chased after him. In the end, Bates got into a shootout and was killed by the guards.
