Synopsis
  • Andrew Bennett's investigation of properties associated with the Blood Red Moon takes him to California. Deborah Dancer and Dmitri Mishkin help him look into a zen temple. They meet a young vampire named Billy Kessler who has resisted the blood urges. Kessler tells them that Mary, Queen of Blood turned the monks into vampires and they left for another temple. Bennett's team is led by Kessler to the monks, where they battle. Something seems wrong, and Bennett realizes the monks are peaceful while Kessler is the villain. He slays Kessler with a stake and the fighting stops. The monks explain that their understanding of zen has allowed them to control their urges, making them resistant to vampiric urges like Bennett.
