abstract
  • Seemingly new to Elona+ (version 1.35R2), after defeating Zeome, Orphe appears as usual but has some important information for you as the music changes to mcChaos (fantasy01.mid by default). A transcript of the cutscene follows. From the pedestal, you can hear a voice. "Your arrival here was inevitable...sooner or later" Space within the room distorts, before you appears an elegant young man. "For me this is, but a minor hindrance, albeit you humans may call this fate?" You earnestly attempt to suppress the shaking in your legs, but it proves difficult. The shadow of the young boy with an elegant face is not one of man. From the depths of his innocent eyes, you feel immeasurable strength and darkness. The young point gestures to the corpse neighboring the pedestal with a crooked sneer. "In accordance with the oath of the eternal league of Nefia, what this pathetic old man had protected?now[] is yours" You cast a suspicious gaze at the gorgeously adorned book resting on the pedestal. At this point, a dialogue box with Orphe opens with his portrait. "Oh omnipotent Lesimas' origin of vice! It seems your new master knows not your true worth....You do not need concern yourself. This [Male/Female depending on your gender?] will surely find another arrogant fool to open the book and sneer down upon the spurious history of this measely[] world for you." "Now, please, your questioning expressions do nothing but fill me with despondency. The book you gaze upon holds within the true history, if the secrets of ancient civilization's magic be as such." "Yes. All that is written is, unfalsified history. Of Sierra Terre, and the grandure[] of ancient civilizations as well as their decline are all enscribed[]. That worth, it goes without saying I needn't explain?" "I give you one warning, once removed from the pedistal[] it loses it's[] magic and transforms into an ordinary book. It writes no new history and surely lose all justifiable proof." "Those who posses[] this book as well must protect their own lives from the influences of falsified history. This artifact has that much power. Also you... that met and exchanged words with the Eleas, Listener of of[] wind... What meaning that has, even if you don't understand... Yes that's right, you'll at least bring me entertainment." "Of course if you wish to bring the book to your lower world then it is your choice... Or should I say if you believe that you can make a selection I have not already foreseen." (dialogue ends) The young boy leans against the wall giving a wicked jeering smile. ....An unbeknownst amount of time passes. Then suddenly the man with frigged[] eyes vanishes. You shake off your uncertainties, slowly extending a hand out to the book.... After this, the cutscene ends and your score is shown as usual.
