It has blown holes clean through power armor, heavily shielded droids, and other "hardened" targets. It lacks fine accuracy, making it less useful at long ranges. Each powerful blast requires a seconds-long recharge. The tremendous energy drain is made possible by a power pack based off of stolen designs pioneered by the Sluissi genius "Tolly," from whom Garrett has stolen numerous other designs. The pack generates it's own energy, drawn from ambient sources - another reason for the often dangerous delay between shots. However, it therefore never needs reloading. It is noteworthy that, while Garrett himself could not get the blaster to function without overheating or draining it's power supply in a single shot, his replicant created the weapon successfully.
