| abstract | - Tamara Avilen has stated that her parents met during an invasion on their home town of Crestfall, in Kul'Tiras, sometime during the Second War. Tamara was born a few years later, the last in a string of four boys, while the orcs were in internment in the capital city of Boralus. Her father was a sailor in the Kul'Tiran navy and was not present for most of his daughter's upbringing. Since the age of five Tamara has enjoyed singing and has displayed quite a talent for it, this and being able to wrestle most boys her age and win, a trait she owes to growing up with her brash brothers. From an early age she sang in the church choir and it was here she developed a burning love and passion for the Holy Light. One by one her older brothers left for the mainland to serve in the Alliance's large army and navy leaving Tamara alone with her mother, who mollycoddled and tried to feminize her tomboyish daughter. But to no avail, Tamara continued to be as brash and stubborn as the males in her family. Until at the age of fifteen she feel in love for the first time with a boy from her village. She spent months making herself as dainty as possible to win his heart, but when it was revealed he was interested in an other woman, she vowed to never change herself again, and left for the navy herself. She sailed around Azeroth for eight years fighting pirates and naga, until her father fell ill and required his daughter's attention at home. For the last few months of his life Tamara cared for her father and mother until he passed away. She left Boralus again, this time to explore the mainland.
