  • Scrying is the use a reflective object to see an event much like that of clairvoyance or remote viewing. This takes a lot of concentration and patience, so don't get frustrated if it doesn't work the first few tries. Crystal balls are famous for their use in scrying.
  • Scrying is a form of divination where the diviner induces visions. These visions can be induced by using a multitude of things such as mirrors, crystal balls, flames, water, and many others.
  • Character with this skill have the ability to use a crystal ball or some similar device (such as a mirror or a bowl of water) to view events in the future, the past, or in some distant location. See Divining for more detail on divinations possible with scrying.
  • Scrying was a Tsuno spell which, drawing the power from Yume-do, allowed the Tsuno Soultwister to see and hear the target.
  • SCRYING (Level 3): A Garou may use this gift in conjunction with a crystal ball, a mirror, a pool of water, etc. to spy on someone. The Garou using the gift must have an object from the target, or the scrying is extremely difficult. NATIVE TO: Uktena

  • Scrying is the art of seeing things that are happening somewhere else. Dr. John Dee said he prefers to use pure water but that any kind of liquid would work. In The Sorceress, William Shakespeare and Nicholas Flamel turned the small crystals in a computer monitor to liquid crystal and used that to scry on Perenelle while she was on Alcatraz island. Also, in The Sorceress, Billy the Kid scrys on Perenelle while she was on Alcatraz via an ancient antique Anasazi pottery bowl and a thick liquid that was a mixture of honey, flaxseed oil, and water.

  • Scrying was a magical skill that enabled the user to view any thing or place, provided that he or she had seen it in the past. The words used to scry were "draumr kópa," which meant, "dream stare."
  • Scrying is a magical technique, demonstrated by Abel in strip #654, which allows the user of the spell to quickly skim through a book and rapidly absorb all information contained within it. Quoting Amber from her post on scrying, Apparently, some bookstores have restrictions on scrying, as shown in strip #654.

  • Scrying is a magical practice that involves seeing things in a medium to obtain knowledge of things that are happening, past events or the future. It's unknown if, in the show, this ability is only possessed by seers and those who have the Sight, or it can also be performed by every gifted warlock or witch. Anyway, seers have a natural talent for scrying and can easily see things with their powers. There are many different ways to perform this, depending on the nature of the medium.

  • Scrying is a rare and difficult form of magic where a person can see and hear things through magic. It can be learned academically (such as the case with Niko) or it can be ambient. Like other ambient magics if it is undiscovered it is dangerous, but instead a regular lack of control it makes a person appear to be crazy. Scrying seems to be an ability which can be learned by most mages, although they don't all have the same success with it. Daja Kisubo manages to make a mirror to scry for Nia's and Jory's powers, although she didn't have much success with scrying when Niko taught all of them.
  • All one has to do is hold the crystal pendant over a map of the area where it is thought the lost person or object will be. The more violent and vigorous the swing of the pendant, the closer you are to the object on the map coordinates, like a "warm or cold" method of looking for something i.e. the more vigorous the swings the "warmer" one is. The pendant will eventually pinpoint the exact location of the object or person by pulling down on to a spot on the map after a certain amount of time.
  • Scrying is the act of using a stone on crystal to see into the past or future. In EQ2, scrying involves using a stone at a special location to reveal what might hidden there. Specifically, scrying involves finding a ring of rainbow lights (similar to the picture shown here), examing a scrying stone while standing very near those lights, and waiting for your result. Scrying, the stones and all, have been in the game since very close to the beginning of the game. The lore article here The Scrying Stones and the SoE article date back to January of 2005, only few months after launch.

The pendant will eventually pinpoint the exact location of the object or person by pulling down on to a spot on the map after a certain amount of time. For a scry to pinpoint the exact location of something, usually an item of that person or demon is needed, such as clothes or blood. Piper used the eyes of a snake to scry for Saleel, a reptile demon, so it is assumed that the object can also be related to the thing you are scrying for. Scrying is one of the four basic powers a witch/warlock has. Elders can also use this power. Amethyst is said to work best as the most powerful scrying substance. (This is probably taken from the real life idea that amethyst is a substance that can heavily augment one's psychic abilities, or, in this case, magical abilities.)

Like other ambient magics if it is undiscovered it is dangerous, but instead a regular lack of control it makes a person appear to be crazy. Besides the magic there are also other things needed for scrying, normally some clear surface. People can scry with mirrors or clear metals, on liquids or glass. The rarest form of scrying is seing things on the winds. Wind scryers are very rare. Trisana Chandler is able to do it, although she has only encountered difficulties with other people when they learned about it. Most people trying to scry the winds go mad. Zhegorz Fiavrus was mad because his magic went unnoticed for too long. Scrying seems to be an ability which can be learned by most mages, although they don't all have the same success with it. Daja Kisubo manages to make a mirror to scry for Nia's and Jory's powers, although she didn't have much success with scrying when Niko taught all of them.

We suspect people are confusing the price of stones with the price of an entire stack of stones and the relative investment return rate on scrying during a time when stacks were small, gold was scarce, and people were very new to the game.
