Born in Carlisle, he has lived in West Yorkshire for most of his life and went from school to art college but fell for the call of the footlights, however became disillusioned with the profession over time. His on-screen credits include roles in Emmerdale, Juliet Bravo, The Ritz, London's Burning, Chalkface, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, The Bill, Dinnerladies, Casualty, Always and Everyone and the films When Saturday Comes, The Full Monty, Captain Jack and Hold Back the Night. On stage he appeared in productions of The Cracked Pot, Lucky Sods and Food Court with The Necks - Back to Back Theatre in the West End.
