Synopsis
  • Fed up with the constant aggravation of the Yancy St. Gang, the Thing leads the FF down into Yancy Street, however the street wise gang manage to force the FF to flee from the scene. After yet another explosive package is sent to the Baxter Building, Thing convinces the FF to go once more to deal with the Yancy's once and for all. However, this is all a ruse planned by the Red Ghost who attacks the FF with his Super-Apes, and during the fight Red Ghost takes Johnny prisoner forcing the rest of the team to surrender. Taking them aboard a space craft, the Red Ghost dumps the FF in an airless area of the moon to perish in revenge for his last defeat at their hands. Breaking free and protected by Sue's force field, the FF tunnel to the Watcher citadel, there they are greeted by the Watcher who is contacting them from lightyears away to advise them they are allowed to stay in his home while he's away so long as they do not tamper with any of the technology to be found there. Disobeying the Watcher, they use a device to draw the Red Ghost back to the Moon where the have a rematch. However during the fight the Red Ghost gets a hold of one of the Watcher's weapons, however when he activates it creating a strange portal, he ironically becomes it's victim when he is knocked into it by Sue. With their master defeated the Super-Ape's retreat in their ship. The Watcher returns, not upset by the FF's action but cannot permit them to stay in his home and so transports them back to Earth, where the Thing is glad to be home, even if they did materialize on Yancy Street.
Notes
  • * The Fantastic Four Fan Page for this issue provides an interesting look at a discussion concerning the use of Communists as villains. The Bullpen acknowledges having received hundreds of letters concerning the subject and a few of them are printed here. * credits: ** Written With A Dash Of Greatness By: Stan Lee ** Drawn With A Hint Of Glory By: Jack Kirby ** Inked With A Touch Of Drama By: Chic Stone ** Lettered With A Bottle Of India Ink By: S.
