  • The Switchback is a Hot Wheels Original Design. The design of the vehicle was retro inspired, blending elements of classic hot rod pick-up trucks with modern lines. Originally the design was to debut as part of Highway 35 along with 4 other designs. When HW35 became the World Race, Switchback remained in the lineup but got a special paint scheme as part of the Wave Rippers. The original 2-tone paint scheme was used on the First Edition.

Die auftauchenden Feinde können neutralisiert werden und das Team sammelt schließlich alle vier IFF-Tags auf. Da von Switchback jedoch nach wie vor jegliche Spur fehlt, soll sich Crimson stattdessen um den Harvester kümmern. Dazu neutralisieren sie zunächst die stationierten Einheiten, um sich anschließend durch die Provokation der übrigen Feinde Zugang zum Harvester zu verschaffen. Im Inneren schaltet das Feuerteam schnell die feindliche Crew aus und deaktiviert das Fahrzeug. Commander Palmer beendet die Mission und beordert den Phantom von Lieutnant TJ Murphy zur Abholung. Unterdessen treffen noch einmal prometheanische Truppen ein, die den Weg zur Landezone blockieren. Nachdem auch diese eliminiert wurden, kehrt das Team zur Infinity zurück, um das weitere Vorgehen im Fall Switchback zu klären.
