Like Carverax, Hardarken was a twelve foot tall bronze giant created to act as a servant to an ancient people. When Hitch found them, they were standing guard outside a large door in the ruins beneath Tustable Impery. Unlike Carverax, Hardarken did not wake up when Hitch held the Staff of Blue Light up to it. Hitch asked why, and Carverax examined the faint stain of greenish tint around Hardarken's feet before concluding that "the fluids vital to reanimation" had departed its body. "Perhaps there was a defect in the circulation mechanism that grew worse over time." The giants so much like each other that when Carverax examined Hardarken, Hitch thought it looked like it was standing in front of a large mirror. It is likely that Hardarken had the same abilities as the other giant.
