  • Kakeru(カケル) is a manga created by Kenjiro Takeshita and serialized in Weekly Young Sunday. Kakeru, the title character, possesses supernatural powers as a result of a near death experience and consequently must use them to protect those close to him.

Michiru began to train Kakeru as a spellcaster, and later took her on as an assistant. Together, they are the core of the Shinyuuchi Hunters.

Among these samurai was Kakeru, a budding Samurai who desperately wanted to protect his country. Kakeru became a very promising warrior as he climbed the ranks of the army to the place of captain. During a particularly close battle with an army from the North most region Kakeru was captured and tortured for a year, refusing to give up information. When a team finally rescued him his brain was out of whack from the constant pain and struggle to keep his mental stability.
